They are more efficient yes. I have a recurc on my MR2, fitted as standard.
The coolest one I've seen dumped everything it didn't need to atmoshpere and recurculated the rest!! Don't know if it was better than a recurc or not but it was pretty trick!

yes although my newer one feels faster, think its because it has less miles and has the two prongs for the oil cooler, so alledgedly could have 130bhp
