Daimo, is this some sort of special price they've offered you?

Mine needs rebuilding & that sounds rather impressive

Interesting reading about the reversed head

So the £2200 is them fitting it all but the £1000 is them supplying the parts & you fitting them yourself?

Nahh, £2200 is just for Swindon to take the engine and rebuild it with new gaskets etc (Labour costs).

But, 190-200bhp is acheivable for around £1k if you fit the performance parts yourself. £195 for each camshaft, plus a few other bits. Also included is the sump plates to prevent surge etc.. I've sent them an email asking for the price list.

Reverse head spec, probably take my top figure, then add another 0 on the end....

Andy, bums, men? Wheres that picture of you and Craig

Swindon Racings "Own" specification.

They were telling me about Formula Vauxhall and how the engines we're practically standard. But, the teams were complaining about the cars not being quick enough so the rules were changed to allow camshaft modifications and a few other bits to bring the engines up to speed.

Give them a call about it. Im still awaiting a reply email, but as i've said on mig, who would you trust?

Mass produced "kent cams" and local joe bloggs RR

Or

Ex VX BTCC engine producers and current Super 1600 Opel engine producers.....

You never hear of Regal, Courtney, QED etc making these kind of claims. Which COULD be rubbish (i know false claims), but looking at the company, its site, its history, its wealth, i can't see why they would lie about it, would put their reputation in balance.

The cams in question are the P10 code camshafts if your wanting to ask the actual spec on them. They are quite open about tuning and are happy to help..

I mean, they don't use ARP rod bolts, they import another companies from the USA (when they could just go ARP, surely theres SOME reason for it?).

I wasn't questioning it, i just think you could get some of the same spec for less, Newman cams will spec your own Cams if you ask them to
