Update
Well on thrusday morning i had an auto elec look at the hazard problem. Took him about half an hour, but in the end he solved it.
The problem was at the front behind the bumper...the plug for the horn was plugged into another random plug that shouldnt be attached to anything. This was causing a live to swap onto an earth and so reated the problem. All sorted now, and the hazards and horn now work, although i have to wire in a button for the horn.
Hopefully MOT tuesday.

Ok, i managed to get a video last night of the carb noise. Its only at idle and sounds even better when under torque but as it aint on the road yet...i havent got a drive-by vid yet.
Sorry its dark, but i didnt think it mattered as its the noise i wanted.
Enjoy!

Well, i went to check that i could get it sorted today...and the MOT station was shut!
Its like this is just not meant to be on the road. Think am just gonna have to wait for the DVLA to get it sorted officially. Which means more time!
Getting annoyed with it now.

Gay By annoyed do you mean you're falling out of love with it?

no...just annoyed that im not driving it yet. So close and yet, so very far!
The only problem is the emissions...if i can get it past that, all is well!
Grr...ah well.

Chris - get the V5 from the donor car if possible, if the donor is prior to 1992 you don't need a cat for emissions.
You need to 'prove' to the tester station about the engine, tbh a good station will know from looking.
Engine numbers & details from VX are also a good way to prove engine age, etc...

yea i know, but am currently waiting on an engineers report to come through in the post, and then i will have proof. Thing is, does it have to go through the DVLA before they will test it??
By that i mean engine number and type changed...or will they do it anyways? im gonna try and sort it monday.
Stupid fuckin...everything!
