Conversely why should you expect people to sugar coat their replies just because you paid £12.50?
If you went out wearing a pair of clown pants to be different, and paid £12.50 to get into a nightclub, would you then demand your money back because everyone in there was making fun of you?
Aye, But theres going up to someone in a club and saying 'Mate you've got balls hahah, There mental'
Then theres going up to the same guy and saying ' You look like a fanny by the way, Put on some G-Star jeans and some nike shoks ya wank'.
All im saying is there are different ways of making people stick around.
True enough. But the man in clown pants wont generally go round asking for opinions.

But its keeping people and making them more involved with the site that Ian's getting on about.
Its not just you or me that make the difference to how people feel about the site, Its the site memebers as a whole.
I barely use off day now simply because of the 'clique's' that are in there.

I know what your saying, But in the ven that he did go round saying 'check these out', Thats where people need to be adult about it instead of making the guy feel bad or make him feel bad about spending the money.
(I keep getting images of Cosmo walking around a club now saying to everyone ' Like these bad boys' pointing to his trousers. )

The people worth keeping will defend their choices and have good reasons for doing something. They will stay. Take Jimmy for instance, how much stick does he get about his bonnet, yet he carries on.
I don't see the benefit of keeping someone who has slapped on a cheapo kit from eBay with minimum effort, wanting to be hailed as some kind of modifying hero before stacking it into a line of schoolkids at a bus stop.

Again, just because he has a bodykit on a Corsa doesnt mean to say he's a fud and is going to kill wee betty from number 64, Just means thats how he/she like there car to look and have chose to spend there money on.
Ok, we dont have to say' Thats amazing' but we dont have to scare them off by saying 'LOL WTF is that'.
Where as giving them advice on what could be improved may see them return ina few weeks/months with an improved Corsa.
In all honesty, Happens on every site though.

I blatantly said it wasn't an insult.
I knew you'd blow up at that comment though
Anyway, it still is civil. Take it in jest.

Be honest here.
You're in a club. A STRANGER walks up to you (let's not forget people on here are still strangers, despite having a name on display from the get go) and says "Hey pal, like my pants? Why don't you have em? If you don't like em I'm gonna throw a hissy fit..."
Would you still be civil?

Fair point and well made.
Theres a the difference of people throwing a hissy fit when someone replied nicley to not liking there kit/wheels etc. Then theres a difference of throwing a hissy when someone has ripped into you.
The main point im making is, There are different ways of saying 'your cars shit'.
