That's where it's all bollocks, you or I would be the first to be penalised for doing that but because they are getting revenue for the ring they're allowed

I dont understand why you would have roadworks and keep a race track open

Granted I have never been but that's just asking for trouble - common sense would suggest that

I don't see why they don't do it at night, not like they don't charge enough to pay guys a bit more to do nights ffs

well I would have thought it was safer to do it at night without the risk of damage to the circuit barriers etc
and the people using the track

I don't know as I have never been - but why would you want to do road works on a track that exceeds 150mph - or even more so drive on track knowing their is road works

to me there is just so much more risk going here regardless of how good the track is

risk is totally dependant on how fast you want to go round, if you want to go with little or no risk, go and drive round at 50mph

You dont go to the 'ring to drive around at 50mph though. I can do that on the road.

technically i believe its now a track as they couldnt enforce the track closure fees when it was a toll road, they were forced to clairify in court i believe

The more its open, the more money they take. When the track was owned by the 'old' management it was always closed and for hours - people complained. When the new management came in everyone said how the track was open more often and they dealt with accidents alot better.

If there was proper barrier damage and they decided to repair it at night or on a specific night/weekend then it could be seen as dangerous as if someone hit abit of damaged Armco it might not protect them like its designed.

As far as I know the maintance company has always been the same (can anyone correct me on that?) They should have experience in these matters, perhaps someone was having an Off Day.

People need to remember although the track is fast, you aren't doing 150mph past these roadworks, it's all got speed limits and from memory a marshals car too

Normally a 50kph limit through the roadworks and if you speed an angry man points and waves his arms at you, will aim a broom at you car and they will also report you.
