You got the list of what is changed? Not sure I've ever spent £1400 on oil and filters in my entire life.
4500 MILE SERVICE (NO AYC FLUID CHANGE) Price Inc Fitting - £145.00
9000 MILE SERVICE Price Inc Fitting - £190.00
18000 / 36000 / 54000 MILE SERVICE Price Inc Fitting - £290.00
Although using the price list above I make it £915 (if I've added that up right)
Already saved £551

My car has probably cost more than an Evo would have over the past two years. If I get my fans replaced it'll cost £400

not sure where some of the figures are being plucked up from? however my impreza costs me far more to run then any other car i have owned?
for example, brakes were near enough 600 quid just for discs and pads, it is recommended to change the oil around every 4-5k although not mandatory.
then you have other things like dif oil changes etc, again not something included on other cars i have owned.
fuel costs are almost double to previous cars.
bear in mind people who buy them very very rarely keep them standard and therefore there is more stress on engine components and increased chances of failure to parts
also taking into account people who modify them whenever they make a change, such as an exhaust, an air filter, a new dump valve or intercooler, this then requires remapping which might be £150 a time.
to say its just as cheap to run a civic is just an unrealistic statement

well , almost as rich as people owning multiple cars and camper vans etc, but not quite as rich as people posting about M3's, M5's and RS4's and Porsches
i mean fancy posting about how your looking to spend 25k on a new car and telling everyone, where are those threads now

I think some people are deluded if they can't see why they cost so much to run

If you mean me, I can see they're expensive, I just don't think they're in that much of a different league to anything else vaguly special.

Yes compared to a Micra but not when compared to anything else in its class of 'high performance' I dont think anyway. Maybe need an extra service where some dont but thats only £200. Anything with a bit of oooomph is going to return <20mpg & have heavy insurance.

guys....
Common sense will highlight where MORE expense comes in during EVO ownership.
They are more to insure than CTRs
The have front diffs, rear diff, centre diffs to a FWD/RWD single diff.
They tend to be used harder for shorter miles - more brake wear.
They are tougher on there clutches
They run richer (more fuel in oil possibly), hotter etc.... I'd rather 'waste' 50quid on oil than 8k on a new engine if it picked up a bearing due to poor/crappy oil. YES the oil MAY be ok all they way through 10k BUT what if
Same can be said with every single car but most cars arent highly stressed turbo 4wd 4pots. Remember these are quite small engines.

CTR's not the same class man, c'mon!!?. Im talking mass production >300bhp. EVO, Impreza, M3, RS4, FRS there all going to be thereabouts with running an Evo.

Evo is what the M3 used to be on here.
Everybody started to slag them off for whatever reason.
I just don't get it?!?
No doubt, when the RS4 becomes a lot more affordable, people will start slagging that off too.
CS sucks for having an opinion.
Ps. One of the worst bits about the car... The turning circle

It's cool, you quite clearly see the realistic, honest and constructive users in this thread. The rest are typical CS mutants with no clue what they're talking about but hey, at least the site offers consistancy

The people who say they can afford Evos can't, imo. If they could they would already have them.

Holy jeebus. Why? I personally think based on my own experience and opinion that it is far easier to have fun with. The clutch feels so much better and is far more suited to launching than a standard clutch. Is that seriously such a stupid comment? I thought I justified my comment in my previous post tbh? I like it so I recommended it.

What exactly did I start? By offering advice to a user on a car that I actually own and know about? Behave mate. Ian didn't even quote me, he created a phrase to which you lot latched onto and started crying about.
