My 13 days in April are now planned - accommodation being booked as we speak. I have based the route around travelodge as they are cheap, available beds along the way and you can take the bike in the room - but I am now researching each day to try and find better options. I think I have spread the miles quite nicely - I am also very proud of my planning to arrive in Glasgow on Easter Sunday which I hope will be one of the easiest traffic congestion days of the year. I am being driven through the night to arrive in Lands End on the Saturday, slightly concerned about lack of sleep but then I dont think I would sleep much anyway the night before the start. My parents are then road tripping up to Inverness where I will get a lift back to at the finish.
Now researching pannier/bag options

yeah I've had a go on a few remedy, 9 and an 8 both felt great. just a bigger version of my fuel really and i do like my bike. seems a logical step to get a remedy really. or a slash perhaps. similar money.

Anyone got any ideas for this,
I've noticed alot that when giving it some beans downhill through the bends that my front end is starting to "wash out" causing me to have to back off and making me nervous through the twisty stuff.
I've got hans damfs front and back sticky compound up front and a harder compound out back.
Any ideas? It's starting to spoil it for me a bit as I'm having to watch folk go off into the distance simply down to front end wash out...

Heres a question - and it might be a stupid one as im not the worlds greatest mechanic..... I was fairly successfully indexing my front and rear gears and also adjusting the limiter screws as I had developed a bit of chatter from the chain.(shimano sora) The rear went fine and worked great - I then tried to do the front, which kind of worked but while turning the barrel adjuster to get the shift perfect I somehow managed to end up with the front shifter not working at all - it isnt clicking any more, it moves nice and free but just doesnt click - I have tried unbolting the cable from the derailer and it doesnt work with out load either? Any ideas what the hell I have managed to do to it - am I right in thinking that the shifter should shift even without a cable attached - so this is something that has gone wrong with the shifter itself?

Body position on bike could affect it fork/wheel flex plus dont you ride a 29er which are less manouverable compared to a 26" bike but should catch up on the straights

I've upped the tire pressures because that's one thing I apparently run a bit low. I've got the pressure right for the correct amount of sag. I'll have a bit of a fiddle with rebound.
Don't think being a 29er is the issue as one lad is also on one...
