Going budgety with that, thinking Clio 172 Cup. Was considering a Fiesta ST150 with some decent bits but it would be twice the money!
Good choice will provide plenty of cheap fun on track
What kind of money are you looking at for the clio?

I'm getting a another Cup when I sell my 328! I haven't put any effort into it mind. Thinking I might just try and get a swap.

Can even pick some 182's up for that price.
Robin, make sure the belts have been done. Even if the auxiliary belt snaps, it typically takes out the cambelt too.

Just buy a cayman s. Don't need a track car then. I drove one and loved it just couldn't live with the running costs and depreciation with mileage I do.

172 cups are mega money to insure for some reason, that's why we ended up with a Vts !

I would have another vts as mine was a little weapon on track. Think I would take a 172 over one purely to avoid torsion beams as I found the semi slick tyres and track use killed mine even after it was refurbed with new stub pins and bearings

Curious as to what you spanked him at? Even if you were quicker at all, there is in no way enough to spank it.
Im not really into thw whole bumming Porsche thing but you've Also got the fact he was driving a 2 seater mid engined sports car and not a saloon with a turbo.

Down a slip road onto dual carriageway and my evo pulled away from it...
As said before the evo was very fast, a fair chunk faster than the m3... Could well have been mapped

There is a hell of a lot more to owning a cayman than straightline speed. Anything can go fast in a straightline. I have had the please of driving cars faster than a cayman including a variety of other quicker porsches but none where the like the cayman.

That was my plan, I'm quickly learning though that it's difficult to enjoy a road car as a road car whilst still trying to maximize it for track use.
If/when I ever do try out a Cayman or 911 - it'll be my cruiser, and I'll have a cheap track car lying around somewhere too regardless of how capable the Porsche is in standard trim.

Direct line were quoting more than we were paying for our Impreza sti to insure a cup as a second car.
