No I'm not, heard it mentioned but don't know anything about it.
Some people do just make mistakes though. Half the stuff I've done in the last few years could easily have put me in jail or seriously injured someone. I've calmed down now and look back and think fuck that was stupid, even as recent as last summer I've done stupid things.
Without trying to be condescending some people can't help but be thoughtless and fuck up. Got to just have a laugh about it though no use crying over spilt milk

Well, he's already got a tag, so that should be a sign to reign the twattish behaviour in.
He buys a Corsa.
It's fucking miles from where he lives.
He can't source suitably cheap 2 or 4 wheel lift recovery.
So decides to tow it, uninsured, over a very substantial distance and on motorways.
It seemed at the time as though it was done with a work's van too, so bringing the name of a presumably legit company into disrepute.

I wouldn't do it myself. And was probably a bit of a risk legally, could have gone quite wrong that. As long as it was towed safely distance doesn't seem an issue to me, although I know it's illegal to tow on motorways unless for going to the nearest junction to get off the junction.
I must be honest though I had a little chuckle at that.
Seems like a good lad to me, if a little thoughtless

Whether that be with a rope or a proper tow bar

Don't know about that Dee. Never had to do it and would never even consider it.
Only ever been recovered from motorways a handful of times and it was a legit recovery rather than deliberately joining a motorway with an uninsured car bobbing around on the end of a tow rope.
I was recovered by a beaver-tail or similar on all occasions.

My dad and uncle have recovered from motorways on a top rope and that was the law for them but that garage went before I was born in 1986 so may have changed since then.
As soon as your towing a vehicle also you take over responsibility for that vehicle respective of road laws and insurance. This might be subject to your policy though and I think it's only when a tow bar is used as opposed to a rope.
He's done quite well to tow a vehicle for miles on a motorway and not have the plod pull him over haha
