Do you really think the door membrane is the source of the leak?

My money would be on the section of the door behind the mirror.. Its really common for loads of coupes and convertibles to leak there..

If the membrane doesn't solve your issue give the rubber seal around the mirror a damn good clean with a degreaser then give it a fine coating of Vaseline.

I did think it was the mirror are but I was sat in the car whilst the missus sprayed the door with the hosepipe and I could see it was leaking through the membrane in the areas where i had come away from the butyl Tape.

Water shouldn't be coming through the door either way Ideally you need to work out how its getting into the door even if its coming down through the window base seal/guttering it shouldn't be making its way to the membrane.

Could this be similar to the problem you get with VAG? Loads of sealant between 2 parts of the inner door solved that one.

It looks like it's designed that way. Certainly everyone else that has had this issue has said it's normal for the water to run through the door.

There are drain holes at the bottom.

But it's rusting away. Mine isn't, it's solid. It's also not the type of vehicle driven around by pikeys ringing a bell.

No issues with it then? Thought our engines were meant to be quite sensitive to filters etc

Can't say i've noticed anything apart from the increased noise and a bit of a boost at full throttle at 4k rpm.
