Not really.

We've all seen that City are making something that could be very big if they continue to invest as they are, and Everton arent willing to invest to compete at that level (lets face it, they have zero chance of a CL place this season) - so why shouldnt he want a move?

If he came out and said he wanted to move to you lot would you be saying the same?

Quite a few footballers have proved recently they're in it purely for the money.

Barry and Lescott more so as they were in the two teams that really stood a chance of breaking in to the top 4.

Team full of mercenaries, at least Chelsea had their captain and for the most part bought players that were joining a bigger and better club and were furthering their career.

Hope they get nowhere tbh.

But they havent moved from a better club to them - well Lescott hasnt (Barry certainly did at the time he moved, plus could of gone to a current cl side).

Lescott is moving into a team with a lot of better players than Everton, Villa, all those lot have, and they have a better chance of CL football than those too. Plus hardly like he has turned down a CL side for bigger wages at City.

How else is he meant to get a move?

As far as I am aware he stated he wanted to go to City and thats it. Ive no idea if he refused to play, etc. but doesnt appear to be the case and was only moyes who refused to play him.

Think he said there was a training ground incident and he was happy with his behaviour hence being dropped until after the end oif the window

Yeah, I wont argue most of those are. Adebayor and Toure went from a better team to City, Tevez opted for City when better teams were in for him, Robinho obviously went for money.

SWP and Bridge both joined Chavski from a lot poorer teams (at the time), didnt work out so took a step back - hardly that bad.

Lescott and Santa Cruz have stepped up from worse teams.

Bridge joined Chelsea to sit on the bench

SWP joined CHelsea to sit on the bench when he could have played week in week out at Arsenal or even stayed at City

Lescott and SC both whinged and oaned their way to City instead of just honouring their contracts or doing things the diplomatic way

They whinged and moaned as they wanted to progress their career at a club higher than one they were at.

And you're correct about SWP, totally forgot both you and our lot were in for him.

I know, look at that fucking mercenary Arshavin - flying himself over to England to force a move to a club.

I suppose it's easier sitting here saying it right enough but you'd like to think you'd choose the option that would give you the best career of winning things and playing for naturally big and heavily supported clubs. It's not as if they pay pennies compared with City

Surely City will give Lescott the most chance of winning things compared to Everton?

Does it really make a difference.

They have a career lifespan of what, approx 10yrs? So in that time, some players (not all to be fair) will try to make as much money as they can not caring which club it is they are playing for.

Do I blame them - not really.

Yeah he's different from the Adebayor's and Robinho's, it's more a case of the way both he and City have went about it. Everton made him an international defender and had him playing regularly with a top 6 club and he slapped in a transfer request the minute City came sniffing.
