Should just be able to peel it away on larger areas, on the bits that dont come away easily rub quite hard with a micro fiber cloth and a little bit of wd40 did the trick on mine.

All depends on if it was done cheap or not. Cheap means less layers and it's terrible to remove

I did some more painting

Sanded it back and added the primer

Then hi-build primer

Rubbed it down smooth

Added the paint

Lacquered

Have now completed one side of car

Still needs to be wetsanded and polished but i'll do that once car is complete

Wheels off the VRS to clean the barrels. Also jet washed the arches out whilst each wheel was off and hand polished the calipers to make them red again. Skoda used some sort of cleaner on them to make them all faded - they were bright before they did whatever they did to them!

Also sprayed those plastic nut cover things silver as they had been wheel acid stained.

Nice work mate

Can't beat black when it's nice and reflective like that.

Unfortunately every black.car I've had, I've been in an accident (3 cars), so that's a no go for me now.

Hopefully I don't continue that trend, although I get a bit excited at roundabouts in the rain!

So got around to fitting new window regulator today.

Other one was rounded off, so couldn't undo window in passenger side. Easy enough job, just but fiddly. Found bolts going through the actually glass a bit strange; but it all works now. Will fit doorcard tomorrow as got work soon.

These a common problem then? Just on TT's or on the 1.8t engine?
