Eg, sooty's 138bhp.
i agree with his 99.5bhp @ wheels but 39% transmission losses is way too high for a front wheel drive car.
The norm for a front wheel drive is 25% although some reckon the 106 box only gives 10% losses.
So 99.5 + 25% =124.3bhp which seems a more reasonable figure to me.
I thought it was high but the peak power reading is at almost 7000rpm which would give a high reading. however the 99hp @ the wheels is around 4-5hp more than a standard 106 gives

Well to explain... a flywheel figure is theoretical figure as a RR actually measures power @ wheels and it is reckoned a normal front wheel drive car has 25% losses through the gearbox, rear drive has more due to gearbox and seperate diff.
I'll disagree with you Dave. it really depends on the rollers as for what you get. one set of rollers gives me more at wheels but less resistance, another set give less at wheels but more resistance. both give almost the same fly figures.

Well, to me all that maths and stuff was a waste of time.
All the power figs seemed accurate to me.(except the omega) The power at the Fly is the power quoted by any manufacterer. So Kerry your results were fine.
p.s I do a degree in automotive engineering.
Wish I could have been there.
