Just the front one from Chris Astley Rick, He said there's been a problem with the powder coating or something but they have now been dispatched.

Closest to a car that that engine has been for a while!

Hurry up and get it in and running. Looking forward to seeing it at the pod.

Have you sorted a ECU out yet? The new DTA seems good, or if Autronic is a option then SM4 is spot on. Got mine from MA Developments and Marks backup and help has been amazing.

Haha, indeed it is Rick! 2 years and 3 months since it was last near a car to be exact.

Sorry to disappoint guys but the Mounts STILL haven't turned up Really gutted cause i've got 98% of the bits I need to fit it all now!!!

On the plus side i've had a phone call from LUCUS saying my 440cc injectors are ready for collection (they've been ultrasonically cleaned and flow tested). And Dan's Civic has finally had it driveshaft woe's sorted and tracking / camber set up. All it needs now is some mapping and an MOT.

But.....

He's just put a deposit on an RX7, which he's going off to Southampton tomorrow to have a look at it when it comes of the boat (straight from Japan ) so the civic might take a little longer to finish whilst he plays with that )

Pics of it will be up soon.

Sorry forgot to answer about the ECU. Going for DTA S60 Rick, a local place near me does a lot of DTA mapping and I fully trust them to sort it out... was so close to going Autronic its just MAD are so far away from me

UPDATE:

1st March

At last... Mounts are finally here.... along with a Cool Running Thermostat, and a gearbox spacer kit for the Van's F28 box.

Mount and Thermostat fitted

I siliconed the front engine mount to stiffen it up

Then it was time to get the craine on and start lifting her in

And there she is in her new home...

It didn't go straight in... there was a little complication with the front gearbox mount but that was soon sorted

All we had time for last night after fitting was attaching the Clutch, Throttle cable... and I can confirm all 7 Gears

But we did quickly play about with Radiators... Unfortunetely we're not going to be able to run a diesel rad as show here

As I wouldn't be able to run a number of hoses where i'd like to. So will be using the 1.4 Sport Rad instead with Pacet fan that you can see in these pics

Its a bit of an anticlimax now its in It doesn't look as big in the engine bay as I thought it would... but I suppose once the boost hoses and other bits and bobs are in there it'll look more filled up.

Sorry about crappy Cameraphone pics again... will get better soon.

Nice one mate, it may not fill up the bay yet. But its different being a 8v turbo to the norm LET and whos cares what it looks like. When the bonnet is shut and your moving people are only gona see the back of the car as its goes into the distance

can't wait to go out in it!!

Top work mate!

Thankyou for the comments guys.

6 forward 1 reverse gear by the way

We're still aiming for an early April finish for both cars... as I would really like to get them to the Castle Combe Action Day at the end of April for a "shakedown" so to speak.

Now that the Engine is in mine I can measure for for the Wiring loom (As it'll be running Standalone Engine Management, a Custom loom is required) This will take a few weeks. So whilst thats on order I still have the Rear beam to sort and the Van's engine to get in. So plenty of updates on there way

UPDATE:

3rd March

Dan's Civic's finally back. Just needs 2 or 3 small jobs doing before it goes off to be mapped by some AEM expert in Milton Keynes.

The AX VTS has just passed an MOT, although its been leaking a fair bit of oil due to the Cam cover not being secured properly thanks to the engine builder

I decided it was time I swopped my Injectors over...

LET Yellow ones

My freshly cleaned, tested and reset 440cc Green injectors

And installed

PM me if anyone wants to buy the LET yellow ones.

Next this turned up on Thursday thanks to Dave A

This is what you get

WIP

And installed

And finally this turned up yesterday.... a small sheet of Carbon fibre so I can have a go and making a nice Carbon VIN plate.

Neil
