Right I'm off to fit my ironing board to my boot and a Cornflake box to my bonnet, I need the stability and the extra cooling you see....
I'm not really, I'm going to replace my heater matrix, backbox and a few dashboard bulbs

Personal Attack!!!
Yes maybe my age of 30 has something to do with my decision, but even in my "youth" () I've never found cars like Scoobys and Evo's appealing, yes I admire their mechanical abilitys, but the look has never appealed to me personally - we're all entitled to our opinions, please let me have mine - you've had yours!

I think there are more VXR's on the road than you think, just they're not noticable like scoobies. Just "another astra" imo.
Depends what you want.
Two totally different classed cars. I see EVERY VXR I pass, remember, im passing them.....
If you want FWD, then the Scoobie will be the underdog. Whats the costs of the brand new model scoobie and brand new astra (i don't know?)
An VXR model isn't just another astra.... Not at all. Even the shells more strengthend.
Different wheels (only 1 other type of 18"s, no 19"s....)
Different brakes
different suspension
different dials
different seats
different interior
different front/rear bumper
different sideskirts (available as an add on extra)
different exhaust
different engine
Just as the biggies...
They arn't the same car.

Did you think I was implying an Astra VXR is the same as a Non-VXR astra?

What about a Impreza Sport and a Impreza WRX? The Sport is shit, the WRX is good, same for the Astra, the SXi is shit, the VXR is good.

What a load of drivel!
Go for the impreza olivio....
I've had mine for a year and a half now and don't think I'll ever get bored of it.
It's always fun to drive.
Don't have any complaints about the interior either....

At the end of the day, like I said, the VXR is a good car, but the scooby is a better car. More common maybe because of it's own success, but does that mean you need to get the underdog to be different
If I wanted a sports car, at my current age, 22, I want something a bit out there and extreme for my money, the STI is that! Attention grabbing, "look at my slag whore of a car and get out of the fuckin way!".
VXR's are for guys who's wives won't let them have imprezas.

Jules subaru prefer the TMIC, it doesnt get the lag associated with FMIC, my old STi was running the standard top mount with standard ECU and it came on boost almost immediately, very responsive.
My current WRX is running a FMIC and even though its had a great map by pavlo there is still a little delay before it comes on boost.
The bigger scoops on the new age imprezas have been shown to reduce intake temperatures. some people with classics have fitted STi 7/8 scoops which have reduced their inlet temps by 8-12 degrees in some cases.
I dont know much about aerodynamics, but im guessing that the speeds and G forces that an STi impreza is capable of surely it serves more of a purpose then just asthetics?

Steve, does your mum and dad share a car? Surely thats the same for Daimo and Donna they live together in their own house, they have a car together, I don't see what your trying to achieve with this?
We are going to get the VXR. Don't ask questions we just are.

Probably a good decision...
At least with an Astra you can then upgrade to a Subaru...
After owning a Subaru I doubt you would then want an Astra
This way you can eventually have both!

This is exactly exactly the reason we made the decsion, ask TNM this is what I said to him over u2u yesterday, if we get bored with the VXR we can upgrade to a newer Scooby, but if we get bored with the Scooby must cars will be a downgrade so on that basis we made our decsion.
