Dug out my replacement F20 this afternoon, but my god it was caked in shit, but it was cheap so cant moan, but jut had to give a tidy up

first removed the "half" driveshafts still attached to it (nearside one was a bugger!!) and take the old linkage off

cars going in this month to have some teething problems sorted, going to have them fit this while they're working on it at the same time, would do it myself but really throwing myself into my new job at the mo

the before shot- i think theres a gearbox in ther somewhere

there......much better

Just a quick update, popped down to the place doing the extra tweeks, bushes are all fitted, steering wheel has been fitted (looks quality) engines back together ready to go in, all that's left is to mate the gearbox back on, refit that, then get the tracking straight so really they are ahead of schedule!

Well pleased can't wait to have it back (plus if I get it back early gives time for a shake down period before Pvs) whoop!!

More soon

Evening, well images as promised, car is now on coilovers all round instead of just shocks and springs at the back coilovers upfront

Day started off early saturday morning (had to go to work) but was driving from mum and dads near silverstone as thats where the car lives off to St.Albans where i work as i was covering a saturday someone was off, part of the deal was my boss was letting me use the ramps at work and one of the fitters offered to help.

Anyway, usual drive then got to the top of the A5 at milton keynes, and came across a VX220...what luck lets o the corsa measures up.
Had a play with him, both went for it, ended up going a bit quick .... but both cars were level pegging, was quite shocked my little track car kept pace with it so that first off put me in a good mood, even if i was up at 6:30 on a saturday the guy in the 220 even gave a thumbs up when he pulled off lol

got to work, did my stint then got back and set to work with the aid of Glen, he loves his motorsport, has a go-kart, 3 bikes and loves cars just as much as me, gave him the keys and i got changed into "working on car clothes" literally gone 10 mins he already got to this stage he was that enthusiastic lol

inspected everything, all components still in good shape

"nearly new" gaz gha coilovers with top mounts ready to go on, courtesy of Adam aka edges who i met at MK meet

old spax fronts, still in very good nick considering how long they have been on

rears on (i know its dirty - time was a factor though)

didnt have time to take pics of the front as i only had a limited time afterwork and had to get it done sharpish

decided my brakes could do with bleeding as they were a bit spongey recently, grabbed some spare brake fluid (handy thing working at a porsche bodyshop sometimes lol)

but this only made some improvement, diagnosis is i feel one of the calipers isnt up to the task anymore and could do with changing due to age but never mind..........excuse to save up for some new ones

but got it all done, locked up with glen and let him have a go.....the only other person who has driven my car apart from me since it was first built lol, looked awesome tearing off down our industrial estate sat on its arse! and even Glen who rides quick bikes even said my car was pretty quick for what it was, so that was a nice compliment, big thanks to him, made the job so much faster (and was miles easier for him as he works on much more complicated suspension day in day out) made him start thinking of a track car/bike of his own now haha

so in closing went from this; (excuse the random before shots, was short on time)

to this (again sorry for shit iphone pics i had to go straight from work back home and get ready as i was going to see the avengers that night in MK :lol

literally have banged them on as adam gave them to me, didnt have time to set them up but first impressions are promising, camber i did have a play with and front end is alot more responsive and stable, especially at higher speed which is what i was after and tested well on the drive home, might be a little too low for everyday roads (bumpy a-roads are an issue ) but again will adjust accordingly and probs raise it one weekend but think it looks cool as it stands right now lol

plus now the back end doesnt step out as much on cornering, only downside was it was much more harsher ride than my spax set that im used to but again this will be adjusted

so all in all iv not had a bad weekend, time to search for some new brakes but until then brin on PVS

yeh of course, on the A5 it handled brilliantly, just the old a-roads near mum and dads have been fucked by trucks and is proper bumpy, anything over the posted national speed limit and it gets a bit pounding

with warren having and extra 50bhp, better tyres, better brakes and him being enough of a loon to drift round quarry corner sideways on cold tyres i somehow doubt it
