No, the guy was lucky to stay on the pitch.

The only reason I can think as to why he wasnt is because he was diving in to more block the ball and not make contact with the play rather than to tackle the player. He isnt that sort of rash player, and certainly wasnt getting wound up or anything prior to this, so no idea why he did it.
