If it carries on revving after the needle has stopped, you're getting on for 9,000 rpm, which is about where the limit of the standard rods is.

I'd be worried about 8.5k regularly on standard rods, even though they are quite strong.

its a good job it only revs to 6500rpm atm and tops out at 110mph

dont have a cover on my clocks, so thought id just put them forward for a laugh, can put a full tank of petrol in doesnt last long tho

standard management + cams + throttle bodies = dog shit

no faster with the cams in, gonna up the fp to 4 bar tomo

and wont rev for a few minutes after starting hot or cold

and keeps triping fuel pump relay out, up a live from the ecu to relay instead of earth, have to probe it with an earth with abit of wire iv got

think its caused by a straining fuel pump

Ah Shouldn't be a problem then, unless it's fudged.

need management, think iv hit the limit of what it can handle tbh

and you cant floor it under 3krpm, it just bogs down
and EML comes on under full throttlw, air flow out of tolerances

off to scrappies for a vauxhall 1.8/2.0 coil pack, and soilder another coil pack plug on

then hopefully will work

getting pissed of with this car

cams wont improve things really until its mapped, will probably be a big reason why it bogs down.

wish you had bought a full TB kit off me with management and base map which would have been a plug and play jobbie now?

dave - if i had the money i would.... and its all a learning curve anyway

it just better be worth it in the end

Had the megasquirt running to day, crank signal was barley reading, then fluctuating madly, found the fault to be inside the ECU, had to adjust the potentiometers.

flicked the key and it started, checked timing with stobe light, adjusted, and idled perfect but go to rev it and the crank signal drops to 0 then picks back up, so cant get to rev, hopefully theres an easy cure
