Parts of it yes as its going to be hidden by the engine. The more visible parts will be rattled just to cover them for now then sent to neils to get properly painted

Ok pictures at last
so as i said, bought some inlet and exhaust mani studs from vaux,
And these turned up aswell
Removed the old ones and started fitting the new ones, then snap one went
so i spend a good few hours getting that bloody thing out
managed to get a easy out from work and ended up getting the bloody thing out
so fitting the new ones
Finished painting and laquering the engine bay
rattle cans but i dont think its that bad of a job in all honesty
anyways getting the rest of the studs off vaux tomorrow and the missing gearbox bolt
finish putting the engine together tomorrow and get it on the crane and pressure washer'd off and start the painting of the engine and box, ready to go in next week when the hubs turn up

Wasnt even silly tight mate. I was lock tighting them as i know they dont need to be tight. Double nutted it. Locked the 2 nuts together. Was tightning it with a ratchet and i think the 2 nuts started spinning down the stud instead of spinning the stud. Heated up and snapped. Question though gaz. Yanno with the studs. You know theyve got the thread then nouthing then more thread. Does the blank bit have to be counter sunk into the head or do you keep that blank bit sticking out?

sticking out unless there is a gap in the hole between the face of the block and the start of the thread. Otherwise how would you get it in without a thread on the smooth bit?

Well when your turning them they still sit in if you keep turning. Before they get tight so there must be a gap in the threads i guess?

Hence me saying fitting the manifolds.... Duhh. Not literaly just going to pressure wash it and leave it am i. Going to clean it down properly. Dont have wire wheel attatchments tbh mate. Going to wash it down. Gunk it. Scrub it with a wire brush. Wash it down again. And basicly repeat untill clean

I dont get how a wire wheels going to help. Are we thinking of the same thing?
Like a wire brush wheel?
The engines covered in like a sticky oil?
Wouldnt a bottle of gunk and a wire brush do alot better?
