well, no updates from me this weekend. i cant actually do any work on the car as such until stuff like the inlet and header tank alloy welding has been done.

only update of anything is that im now back on to using a std radiator. sadly, there just isnt the room to make the alloy one fit with everything else due to the oil cooler and how the intercooler sits for the front bumper. if cooling becomes an issue, i will have to make it work. but i dont think it will be.

so much more space. shame really.

i know hopefully have the alloy welding done soon. its being done as a favour sort of thing, so it will only get done when it gets done sort of thing. possibly this week one night will make a start on modding the downpipe. once thats done, and the waste gate pipe made, the whole front end can actually go back together which will be a bonus really. can also actually bolt the throttle bodies down i think as theyre only one with couple of nuts currently, and attach the fuel lines etc properly. aiming for end of the month for it to get mapped, but, im in no rush. be nice to drive it again.

looks good though, i would have thought that you could have still used your upgraded radiator and fixed the oil cooler somewhere out the way?

tried it under the headlight on driver side. just isnt enough space. the alloy rad when mounted where it wanted to go meant that there really wasnt enough clearance between it and the wastegate. looked likely that it would get smacked when the engine moves.

could have used it and made it work, id just rather not have the intercooler hanging a foot out the front of the bumper as thats pointless when i use it as a road car. in my opinion.

bit update

pic to show the vacuum take off's for each cylinder. basically to give a nice smooth vacuum as if only taken from one or 2 cylinders, can often get a pulsed vacuum instead of continuous.

alloy welding has been done to the inlet plenum and the dump valve flange welded on. also had the brackets on the header tank altered so they angled flat, and the pipe out the bottom changed also.

all the trumpets are lined up on the back plate, ready to drill the holes through the centre.

and thats the header tank mounted in its new location. lovely. tomorrow nights plans are to investigate the downpipe, see what needs changed and make a small bit of the screamer pipe that will get finished at my work.

then took a video of the supercharged v8 tvr.

sadly the mic on my phone doesnt do justice to the noise though. awesome sounding. forget what power it made actually. was runing something low like 0.2 or 0.3 bar.

bit more stuff done tonight. left the rolling road just after 2am......

header tank plumbed in and that

some throttle bodies and stuff and holes cut in backing plate.

put the car up on the lift to do some work. first time its moved in months even though it was only being pushed.....

such a weird little youth. was doing a cambelt on a car he was.

re-manufactured downpipe now with added flexi courtesey of the legendary rolling road man mr jdm. has a new lambda bung welded in further down aswell to hopefully make the wideband probes last a little bit longer.

need to get some 45 degree bends put in some 45mil pipe at work tomorrow then johnny can weld the screamer pipe together.

will hopefully get some more done tomorrow afternoon. best go to sleep. up for work in a few hours.....
