skyline is looking a bit tatty just now after a hard year!
We have wider rear 1/4s and a new boot and rear bumper to go on.
Impreza is starting to get the tell tall track use marks now too
Gravel scuffs, rear bumper has moved (i think from beig airborne and landing hard) the front of the car is covered in black scuffs from flying tyre debris...
Wish some one had an outside pic of the (bigger) off... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctpg_yiSJjw

na.... i didnt really lift... that was the problem
I turned in a bit early, got it wrong, started understeering and kept part throttle thinking it would grip.... it didnt. You can see my just preparing for the 'off' just before by straightening the wheel etc
I blame the 6R4

SPA Oil Pressure and Oil Temp gauge fitted, using a 4 way block.... other two outlets are blanked for now. Location/Final fitting could be better but its sturdy enough and in my general line of sight for quick glances Still needs to be set up properly for my prefs (read in bar etc)
also started work on a makeshift catch can/vent to atmosphre set up for the breathers after breaking a 90 bent on the inlet just before the turbo. You can see oil in the inner wing for some hard laps at the weekend.

todays attempts LOL
Started making up a test splitter from hardboard... I knew the bumper was going to be a pain to work with as the bottom is quite angled, so the splitter would naturally point up (giving lift) I had planned to space the front of it down and test things out BUT i ran out of time and patience before trackday tomorrow am. I tried about 30mm spacers on the front, but it was still angled! Anyone tell me which bumper is best to use as this damn STi one is a pain
Raised the back of the bonnet a touch. Not a fan of huge lifts, so kept it quite subtle and removed the rubber seal at the back to help get hot air out quicker... Need to reverse the scoop too as its just a air brake at the moment!
DIY catch can... I have ordered a twin entry one, but this orange juice bottle will do for now
I blocked the block to inlet, blocked the PCV, and vented the 2nd of the block breathers (i know they are just T'd but was easier to plumb this way with what i had). Cam cover breathers... I think i'm getting a bit confused with them. I had them ready to t together and vent to catch can BUT then just had a look under the inlet and thought I saw they were just linked directly to each other. Since found out that this isnt the case, and they also go to the inlet. Anyone tell me where?

bit of a run down after the trackday today...
Was smoking a bit more again, and seemed to loose a 1l of oil somewhere (maybe in the IC, through inlet etc)... anyway... got a red warning light on the pressure gauge round a corner (warns under 2bar) so came in. Oil was at bottom of dipstick :/
After this i just decided to rig up a second pipe into my catch can from the two cam breathers and block off the final inlet hole. Seems to have cured it.
Smashed a headlight and ripped the NS front to shreds
brake discs are goosed - really warped and grumbly when cold.
Impreza was much easier to drive near the limit on the Crail track compared to the skyline. The skyline was just too firm, and too powerfull early on with the loose stones.
fitted the reverse vent today nice and easy
Will do the lip soon, was just having a **** day of it with my brakes!
thanks to Davie http://www.drmotorsport.co.uk/

fitted the Jun lip pop rivited on, and started offering up the test splitter still to see how flat (overall angle once fitted to car) it will be so may still need spacers
pics of the vent fitted
and the size of the crack in the pas disc once off :O

its not the first time either
Cracked the OE skyline discs on both sides in a similar fashion.
Cracked the 356x32mm discs on the skyline to lesser extent (one side/face) on both discs

Susp - I'll be getting new susp for it in the next few months... I want something decent, and the car is track only so... Circuit focused susp is a must. Any thoughts... I cant afford (or dont want to afford) much more than £2000, within that price range!
Other susp parts... I have just bought the following whiteline parts..
Anti lift kit, Roll cantre kit, Drop links front & rear and Rear diff lock bolts.
The ALK with give me a bit more castor, but i'd like more adjustabilty still - Anyone got feedback on whiteline control arms? http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_detail.php?part_number=KCA375M

split the old 'spare' engine... did a good job on the bearing on No2. And the main nearig has bearig material welded to it. The rod and cap are a bit out of shape too, they dont slide back together
Nothing else really wrong with the engine, crank will be scrap of course.
pistons in great condition, bores are ok... no gouges etc
also gace the bucket a wash

Did the lower splitter make a big difference?
Why did you choose wood as opposed to thin ally etc?

wood is much cheaper and easier to work with as a test item.
I have no concrete facts on its performance yet as the trackday it was on for was soaking.... no grip at all.
Once i'm happy with it, and possibly extend the design further back under the engine (only about 600mm deep at the moment) and secure to the chassis/subframe, i'll make one from a lightweight composite.
