FPMSL at what Rafa said when asked about the shitty comments Fat Sam had been making before the match...

"We prefer to talk on the pitch.

"We can win on the pitch and enjoy. Some people have to talk before or after the press conference because it's more difficult for them to do a football job.

"I think he's a model for managers all around the world. I am sure his style of football, his behaviour - everything. It's the perfect model for all the kids.

"The style of football - I am sure Barcelona are thinking about copying the style."

Owen & Rooney

I actually thought there was a third goal in it for us to finish them off but it never came. Valencia should be No.1 choice over Nani all day, every day. He must have a few assists now, seems to do very well at getting the ball in to Rooney. He's only going to get better.

1st Trophy of the year. Lets hope there are a couple more

Park is quality, you can always rely on him to put the effort in. Be nice to see a few more goals from him for his efforts.

All this one man team business is bollocks. Theres no denying Rooney is absolutely class and getting the goals but the rest of the team are setting them up for him and playing a part in it

Yeah, good call on the timing to post this.

Just after that one man came off the bench to score the winner

My bad, Valencia & Berbatov had nothing to do with the build up to the goal then :doyle:

You can have all the build up you like (Arsenal proof of that) but if you don't 'that' player to put it in the net its all pointless.

Yup. & by the same token you can have the best player in the world on the pitch but if the rest of the team aren't doing their job he isn't going to get the chances to score.

When you sell Rooney and Vidic this summer you'll be lucky to be above Villa.

Pretty bad weekend for us lot, city, and spurs winning, at least we got a result against that bunch of wana boxers not sure how nzonzi stayed on the pitch, and chimbonda was lucky with that kick on maxi also. We should have tried harder to score another one during the first 20 mins of the second half to avoid reina having to be the hero again.

Nice to see torres back and gerrard playing where he belongs, Lucas had a good game too.

I can't beleive how many rooney has scored with his head lately, it's pretty good considering he's not the biggest lad in the world.

I don't think Chimonda's 'kick' hurt as much as Maxi was showing But how nzonzi got a way with that I do not know
