I could do with getting a set of stands if I'm going to be under it a bit tbh.
I'll make sure to take plenty of pics tomorrow

Good man And tbh, me too.. don't think I own axle stands, just a really big strong jack that can lift 3 of my wheels up at a time

I was too lazy to do the suspension yesterday so did a bit today
I needed the stands of the red one so stuck 2 steels on the back, MK4 boy will be drooling at this
On the "stands"
Walla, out with the old,
And the new, was surprised how clean/new they were, previous owner must've changed them recently which is good fro me
And fitted,
Couldn't get any decent pics with everything fitted as not enough room with both the cars, and both are un-movable due to flat batterys
Just off the jack with handbrake still on,
Need to get it on to level ground for some pics
I can visualise it now and in my mind its going to look good
CBA doing the fronts atm so thats a job for tomorrow, have to change the shocks on the front too as the mong has standards on the front 60mm + XE + standard shocks = fail

I was thinking about doing them gloss black as I'll be doing bumper tops/skirts etc gloss black
Been doing a bit of reading on the XE conversion and its sound like a right PITA due to mine being a X10XE

Yeah gloss black sounds good, and as Scott says, aslong as you got everything should be all good?

I was only going to take the engine loom though and just wire it in my self, taking the whole lot out seems like a far easier option though tbh

I know mine is a case of a new dash loom and it plugs in to the engine loom. So yours will probs be a case of move dash loom over, steering column, steering rack etc if it has powersteering and obv all the engine and shafts etc and then you'll need a 1.4/1.6 sport radiator with a 1.0 top hose off it i believe

Its all alot to take in , I've never done anything with engines before so I'm just reading everything I can to try and learn a bit about the conversion. Most of it will be the auld mans work , I'm ok with the mechanical side of things its just the wiring I'm pondering over.
I'm keeping the non power steering setup so don't need to transfer none of that over.
If I transfer every bloody wire over it should be just plug and play

I was the same before i started mine but now ive got everything i could talk someone else through it but in theory it should all just be plug and play for you

Pah, Only cos ive explained it to you 5 times over
As per any conversion, Think it though, Work out what your doing etc. Just strip the red one completely and your have everything for the conversion.

Been messing with the front suspension for a while, got one side off but the other just won't budge! I've tried different spanners and ratchet bars etc and still can't get the 18mm nuts to move!
Might try the nut splitter out lol

I was looking at this pic today and was thinking the front doesn't look any lower than mine, and thats with the XE in it too so heavier.
And how mine sat,
Opinions? Any point in changing them over?
