It don't need to be pinched in like that, Id just be worried you can't get enough tension on the multi belt by doing it with the top alt slider.

If you're struggling for tension you just need a bigger bar
I've worked on multi stuff that tension on an alternator slider before.

See if we can track down a lower alternator bracket first.
If not we'll look in to making it slide.

Yeah, aim for that but worst case scenario the slider will work if we have too.
Slider would be more ballache too with having to find a suitable belt

Would be piss easy, Bit of string around the pulleys and then take that measurement (from the string) to a motorfactors and tell them what kinda belt it is and what length you need, they will give you one

That assumes we can introduce tension somewhere.

Not sure if this is the same or not but when I put the X16XE in my Nova what me and Lee decided to do was just put a V-belt pulley on the bottom and used the same for the alternator and I made up a bracket at the top for the alternator to tension it up.
Was dead easy to do, stopped all this faffing around. And I'm sure you can chop up your exisiting PAS mount to suit.

You could do that, But finding a trigger bottom pulley isn't easy either. Again pulley can be found on a SRi, But 8v.

We also used a bit of CDS left over from Ste's cage to make up the hoop to rear turret bars but by the time it was done were too knackered for pics Just need my stuff to turn up now then we can crack on with the rest of it.
I think my only big doubt about being ready for Combe now is when my CDS is gonna turn up, if it's here on time (by Friday) I'll get Combe paid for and have the WR +1 extra session. If it isn't, I'll have to see, Ste has told me I could take the Pugga although I'm not sure how I'd feel about that one with it being my first time back on track since crashing.
Up to date list now, the question marks are things I think may be left if we're short on time
Strip loom
Remove windows inc. boot DONE
Remove side strip glue DONE
Prep for paint
Sunroof
Spare wheel well??

Roll cage PART DONE

Fit polycarbs

Fit arches
Fit bootlid
Tracking
Brake fluid change

Aux belt (X14XE non-PAS alternator bracket) NEEDS SOURCING

Could you just leave the cage as it is for Coombe? Get the rest done then add the extra bits in at a later date?

Not massive amounts to do on the cage - and it does need harness bars anyway.
Need the back brakes back together this week.
Spare wheel well needs alu sheet, which I think we have in the back shop, remind me.
Can you get the window guy up there this week?

I'll have to have a word with Ste, see if he can be up there to meet him one day, that's the only issue atm.
Leaving parts of the cage also means the ballache of having to mask everything up again once done so we can spray the new bits.
I've decided now too, the heater matrix and dash aren't going back in for Combe, I'll judge it after that as to whether to put them back in or not but for now it's off the list

Heater matrix and dash don't worry me as much as rear brakes, windows and sanding the body.
All of which need either things buying or people to be there.
You would also still need to mount all the switchgear etc., fuse box, clocks etc.
I can probably be there Thursday afternoon. And any evening except Monday.
Best plan is probably me and Ste stay on the metalwork and you and any other willing volunteers sort the other bits. Ideally we need new pipes/unions for the beam because you know you can round/chop off the old cylinders and they'll still suit.
Either way you'll have a car at Combe, take the Puma if you're stuck.
I think we can sort yours, just need to have all the stuff we need at the times we need it, ie. toffee wheel, brake unions I think we have in stock, flaring kit also probably at F Sport, if not that's only a call to Oly.
