reading the papers this morning, they seem to think there will be another massive aftershock.

I do feel sorry for the people out there, but cant say i am going to loose any sleep over it.

I'll deal with your most obvious arguement before you make it; they attacked a military installation at Pearl Harbour killing ~2400 military personnel and ~70 civilians, most of whom died immediately. In response, the americans bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki killing between 150,000 and 250,000 people, largely civilians, most of whom died from severe burns and radiation effects over 2-4 months.
