First pass done today, all cut so next job is the polishing pad and seal it with some wax
Pretty happy how it's come up, not bad for 13 years old

I used a Chemical Guys Orange pad with some Menzerna PO203S, finished it with a Chemical Guys blue pad with some Menzerna PO 85RD.
All machined and wearing a coat of Collinite as of last night

Looks lovely Ian.
I want to get in on this rotary polishing lark, but I would probably ruin my car if I did.
Astra needs it desperately.

I hate doing it with a passion but can't argue with the results

It's just very boring and repetitive really!
The first hour or two is okay and you are seeing good results that push you along but then I soon get sick of being on my knees to get the low bits and just get a bit sick of the whole process
Bare in mind that this was about 6 hours on Monday to use the cutting pad, 2 hours on Monday night with the polishing pad and another hour and half last night to wax it!
Don't get me wrong, I wanted to do it after neglecting the car last year but I am damn happy it's done
It would be quicker with a rotary polisher, first time I did the TT I used my mates rotary and got it done and dusted in a day iirc.

Fuck that haha. I used my DA, VAG paint is particularly hard though so the cutting takes a while as DA's are a bit shit hence me saying I did it with a rotary in a day previously, cut, polished and waxed!

After 18 months of not getting around to it I finally bought some spacers to give it the wide look back that I lost when I bought the 19's due to the high offset.
Not great pics but I have gone from 20mm to H&R 30mm bolt on spacers. Looks much more aggressive in person
Before
New spacer
Now
Needs some fettling as it's rubbing right on the rear of the arch liner, nothing I can't sort I am sure

Raise it will look and drive better, what's not to like
I'm not usually a fan of spacers but that does make it look a bit more "natural" as such. Good work!

Tbh it drives really well as it, don't forget, this isn't running eBay specials or rusty FK's...it's on 1K H&R Coilovers which are not at there full drop as it is!
If it was on 18's I would raise it slightly but they looks a bit roller skate with any height on the 19's

30mm spacers I had 25mm and I thought that was a bit much. Bet they're rather heavy.

They are actually quite a bit lighter than the 20's! Then again they where over twice the price

Quick wash before showing at All Types on Sunday.
Had a play with the rear arches and have got the rubbing down to a very minimal amount now
