I don't rate Bresnan at all, he might keep it tight, but he's not a wicket taker.
Cook out. 26/1 after 20 mins because the Queen popped in before her holiday and delayed the start by 15 mins or so.

Shit. Root out too.
Sounds like we should kill them in the first innings today on this pitch, and put it beyond them. But not started well at all.

Its a tough one, seems like he's changed his natural game and tries to defend more now he's opening and its that that's getting him in trouble.
Good for my top scorer bet

Dont worry, this is just the part of the day where we look terrible, soon we'll look good and then Aus will come in and collapse and we'll think we'll piss it, until they suddenly come good again and we nearly lose.

Trott and Bell are ideal to steady the ship. Get to 150/3 and no worries about the mini collapse.

Straight through Bairstow. Again. He needs to get that sorted out.

Nasser pointed it out last time that he keeps getting out like that because of his head position, or bat position, can't remember why he thought that
Not out. Lucky bastard. No ball. Haha

He does got bowled way too much for an international batsman. His head falls outside the line and his bat comes across instead of straight, he probably works on it a lot in the nets but its easy to drift back into bad habits at the crease. Got to make them pay now though, really want a big innings from Prior too.

This is the part where we look good. 200 up with only one wicket taken since the mini collapse.

We just aren't doing the basics of test cricket at the start. No matter how good the wicket is there is always a bit for the bowlers with the new ball, weather that then cash in as the ball gets older. I don't really think anyone has got out to a good ball again, no way Watson should be getting you out so early either.

Joe Root just isnt an opener and KP has been disappointing. Couldnt believe it when i heard we had lost 3 wickets so early on, on this pitch.
On a more positive note Ian Bell is playing really well here, some terrific shots. Englands batter of the tournament by far, I'd say player had it not ben for Sir Jimmy's heroics.

He's been brilliant. Fairplay to him, came under a lot.of pressure from the media, looks like he's going to hit his third consecutive ashes 100.
Trott will be kicking himself again though, god knows what he was doing on that shot. He should of got a double hundred on this track.

Just caught it wrong looking at it, no way he meant to loft that.
Hope Bairstow racks up 100 after that no ball.

Was about to take the piss out of Smith for seemingly just trying to get the rev meter into the red. Then he bowls a beauty

I like Steve Smith, he looks like the geeky kid no-one really likes, who tags along at the back of groups hoping someone talks to him
