Did some work on a very heavily used and very high mileage, '03 plate example of one of these gems early last year. Best big 4WD 'off-roader' I have ever driven.
Not exactly pretty, but VERY comfortable. Behaves more like a car than a truck. Remarkably quick, especially for a diseasel.
Reliable and built like a brick shit house. They're just very dear (imo) for their age. That's the only downside, as far as I can tell.

Yep but it would probably break down half way through a puddle just for shits and giggles.
Load of shihte about Landys been un reliable. And if they do break they are a piece of piss to fix as long as you know your way around a set of spanners.
It will leak all over the drive though.
If there's no oil under it, there's no oil in it.

Officially an 'air-portable', as they fit in the back of a Hercules or a Chinook.
They're no lighter than a standard 90 though

For your money Steve you may be better off with a Discovery 2 (td5, traction control etc) and you'll get a nice spec one for your money too. Underneath they are exactly the same as a defender but on a 100" chassis.
Suspension arms are thinner and lighter Gaz.

Crikey that looks clean Steve!
Private or dealer?
A pal had an identical one but TD5 a few years ago.
Spent a king's ransom putting all the cool shit on it and making it go fast and sound mean.
Ran it for about six months, then put it back to standard and sold it to a farmer for a massive loss.

Not sure about the difference in specs but I know just going off the one I use it has no radio and I really wish it did have! That is the most basic version going though and a little older than the one you are getting

Says no welding done or needed. Has been waxoyld twice a year.
The seller runs a business with his old man refurbishing them and this was his personal one for 6 years, hence why it's so clean. I don't think the bodywork is 100% mint he was honest about that a few small scratches etc
