Excuse the rubbish picture, don't want to look like the idiot in the office taking watch photos

Oooooft nice. The milgauss is well up on my list of items to own at some point. Love the story behind its creation.

Is there more behind it than needing to keep time in high magnetic environments?

A friend of mine has spent 6k out of his joint wedding fund account on a Rolex . He hasn't told his lass yet I find the majority to look a bit old man ish . I did see a gold one I liked but it was around 25k if I can remember rightly . I would have to have a million in bank to justify that

Here's the story from the Rolex website.

'The Milgauss, introduced in 1956, was designed to meet the demands of the scientific community and is capable of withstanding magnetic fields of up to 1,000 gauss. It became known notably as the watch worn by scientists at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva'.

Problem being it didn't actually sell that well because the average scientist/engineering at the time couldn't afford a Rolex, so it the original milgauss was only sold for a short period of time.

Wearing the watch on their dominant arm (rather than opposite)?
I do that as well as my brother, strange bit is we're opposite 'handed'
