Probably with the R32 lump up front. If that was an issue then I'd get one with the 1.8 20vt. There's a few kicking about now with the 2ltr tfsi.

I always sort of fancied one. Then I drove one.

Remember most of them are well over 20yrs old now so it's not gonna drive like a modern car.

Well this may be a let down for a lot of you

Never had a red top corsa or a gsi so thought meh

Its cheap but has a few issues -

Door has been bent (will need new)
Has a rusty wing
Has a rusty bonnet
Brakes need bleeding
Wheels need a refurb
Slimline fans need wiring
Interior needs a tidy

Has a pretty good spec though and plans are to do the above, register as 2.0, mot, fit my bonnet raisers and a decent speaker set up then colour code the handles

Then enjoy

I was referring to the ones I drove when they were still new or almost new Eck.

I think i'd always expected too much, going on their reputation and how much i'd admired them.

Also the dash and switch gear and those bloody sack cloth seats were so not in-keeping with the external lines and finish.

I still love how they look, just don't like the inside and always found the drive a disappointment.

Still eons better than a MK I or MK III Golf. They are not good at all.
