Looks like we're (Derby North) Tories as well now.
Tories beat Labour by 41 votes, would of been 40 if I'd voted properly

Half tempted to kick off on Facebook about the "my vote won't matter anyway" brigade. But tbf, although I didn't want the Tories in power, I didn't Want Labour winning locally, so not too fussed. Conservative constituencies will get better treatment than others, so probably a good thing for the area at least.

That's a pretty good turn out isn't it?
The support for UKIP is far more disgraceful IMHO.

SNP predicted 58 seats?! How is there that many? Surely there's only 20 odd in Scotland?
Thats why we need proportional representation.
What so Scotland gets a government that it never voted for? Sounds like a great day for democracy.
Where do we sign up for that? Probably the next move by the Tories.
Same for half of London and a lot more people there.
Let face it SNP kind of shot them selves in the foot kicked labour down and out a let Tories win

I'm going to back pedal slightly on my earlier outburst
Having looked at all the figures across the UK it's hard to argue against the PR voting system
There are winners and losers in each system but a UKIP or Green voter must feel particularly hard done by today.
Edit: A PR system would however give Labour more seats than Tories on this occasion I think.

A PR system would mean that we still ended up with Conservatives in power, the biggest change would be more UKIP and less SNP
Conservative 11,162,553
Labour 9,236,878
UKIP 3,830,029
Liberal Democrat 2,359,368
Scottish National Party 1,454,436
Green Party 1,138,445

I've got the BBC on in the office (I built a TV streaming box for events such as this ) - Farrage gone, Clegg stepping down, waiting for Miliband now.

At least in a PR system there'd be less need for tactical voting (if there was any anyway)
