If that were only the case, Steve. Perhaps then you'd stop drivelling all over CS seeking for attention and rather, act like the mid-thirties person you are.

Like I keep saying the definition of AFFORD seems to have shifted in recent years..
The word 'afford' has meant what it has always meant, as to the definition you posted, in that you can afford something if it doesn't put you into 'financial difficulties'.
Because someone leases, finances, rents or mortgages something, it doesn't mean they can't afford it.

Davey bought his house in cash. Rolled up with a briefcase handcuffed to his wrist and everything.

I think Ian has hit the nail on the head here.
If the deal works out cheaper and you don't want to keep the car, lease works well. If there aren't any lease deals and you may want to keep the car after the term PCP is better. If the car is significant in price (£30k+) and you could invest the money you would normally put down on a deposit for PCP then again a lease could work out better. Or if you are a tight git, there are plenty of Mk1 Ford Focus available for under £1000.

I'm out on the deal. Allegedly need about £1bn of extras to make it decent.
Now there is a downside to leasing - options.

I wouldn't mind that. Remember ringing up about it and it was sold then a few days later you posting a picture.

Steve, you're a 30-something pleb, who live with his mum, and who's highlight of the day is logging onto Corsasport.co.uk to see if you can disagree with someone about something, then act like the pleb that you are...
Nobody cares about your findings, only you would go to the extent of visiting a Vauxhall garage after somebody posts a link to a pcp deal on the internet.
Do you have a life?
