STarted off today by chiselling out the brand new wall
Then onto the room above, which I specfically asked not to carpet, but to leave the carpets there for us to arrange to do
Started off by removing this step, its just a health and safety thing the builders have to install because of the window height, this wont be going back in and will give us about another foot of floor space
Behind that located an existing aerial wire,
Made a join to extend it
Then fish wired it down the wall from upstairs
As you can see the tube will be to run the cables up behind the wall
Temporarily arranged everything until tomorrow where we will plaster that cut out over so you cant see it when painted
Next job was the cut and mount a fused spur, and the bluetooth music receiver plate
Everything fitted loosely on the wall, the TV will cover most of these
Took some of the upstairs floor up to run the wires for the ceiling speakers, thats where we left it today

Where did the unit under the TV come from? Quite like the look of it.
Good effort on the DIY, not sure I will be so brave on ours. Maybe using a bit of Dlink conduit to start.

I would have expected a lot bigger for the price of the house. Your girlfriends dad is doing some good work with the wire hiding though. Good stuff.

Great work on the wiring. Would love to have done that to mine, but don't fancy cutting stuff up.

Thought the fade function on the TV unit was a bit shit. Turns out works quite well with music

Next round of pics
Cut the speaker holes in the ceilings, one in kitchen one in lounge
Where we routed the speaker wire in the floors through the joists
Had to fish it a long way into the lounge
Filled the wire tube and holes in the wall
Speakers in the ceiling
Fitted the light
Put some brushed faceplate access holes in the back of the tv unit for the cables
Some of the devices in, PS4 Wii and BR player
Going to paint that wall a different colour, as a feature wall

I've been in my house 6 years now, Nic. I've therefore tried the wacky wall colours (duck egg, brothel red and 1977 lime green to name a few).
They looked good at the time (to me), but you soon realise it's a fad and after a while you just think you were on drugs when you painted it that colour.
I'm all about the greys now, with coloured accents. As an example, here's my hallway I recently painted.

Just looks dull mate. Welcome home to your black and white boring life etc. Each to their own so as long as you like it, well done.
