I know what you mean mate, but i'm not totally sure it'll look good I know chrome/silver would look fine so thats the safe option.

Need to photoshop some pic's really.

Anyway, removed my hardtop finally as it's a bit hot down here. Raised the soft top without issue, then went to lower it and nothing! Just an orange light on the centre console, which tells you the problem.

Turns out the microswitch had broken, which tells the car when the parcel shelf is in the correct position. Not sure how it broke as I haven't touched that area ever

Took it all apart then rebuilt it so i'm left with the below. Just need to fit it and hope it works. It clicks when pressed so should be OK.

I also removed the Gaptech module, which allows remote hood open/close and one touch open/close functions as I thought this was the problem at first.

I was never happy with the connectors supplied and a few times the wires came loose, so i'm going to get them soldered properly.

I take it back. Just went out to get a kfc and put the roof down. Sun had just set and it was lovely. Can hear the exhaust popping and that lovely 6 cylinder bassy tone even better enclosed roads.

It appears I love it I just don't like my roof fabric, it looks proper crap. Bought some more black dye for a cheap fix, but I think the only way to sort it would be buying new. Expensive....

How much are replacements Ben?

When I had the E36 the roof was the worst part, so bought a better one second hand, that subsequently fell apart 2months later replacements were £1500+ including fitting!

There is that, of course. Will need to wait a few months for prices to increase though.

Quite like them in black tbh. Hopefully this won't result in more Internet spec grilles though.

I love the gloss black grills. Hate the matte looking ones, but the gloss makes them look like an OEM part.

BBS rep's are in for refurb

Decided against black in the end. I prefer the way they look currently, very nice and shiny in the sun.

The guy recommended light shadow chrome centres and lighter dishes, so I just went with that. A guy in work used them before and said they did a great job so should hopefully come out nice.

Only thing is I now need to buy some new fake bolts. Not sure where you get them from, however.

Back to the drawing board....

Wheel shop called to say 3 of the wheels are quite badly flatspotted and one has a crack in.

Not good. Currently at the shop, probably end up chucking these in for scrap and buy some new rims. Has to be 19's though as I already have the tyres

Shame, but oh well.
