I don't mind the odd text talk every now and then such as "u, r, m8 etc"
But when people start doing it with every single word they know, then i get realy frustrated.
I make alot of typos wich i do know about but cant be fussed to change most of them, not because i don't know how but because i can't be arsed.
itz wen dey talk lyk dis dat fukin pissiz mi of!
It takes me longer to type that horrible mess than doing it properly. SORT IT OUT lol
I like spelling day
thats not a dig at anyone i know

but the thing with not being arsed to correct your intentional mistakes is that you make it hard for readers to even understand.

'loose' when you're trying to say 'lose' REALLY does my head in, it happens daily and by people you usually don't notice making mistakes.

One of my friend's boyfriend spells "can't" as "carnt". That's not even shorter, it's just stupid.

FYI 'ye' is pronounced 'the'. Something to do with the roman character set didn't have a 'th' sound so they used a 'y' as a substitute as it looks like a thorn.
Luckily we have the use of t and h on our modern day printing presses.

One i've noticed more and more recently, starting to get as bad as bought and brought (somebody on here used bought as brought somewhere while we're on that), worse and worst, they are not interchangeable.

Agreed it's annoying, but I only hope this thread doesn't make the people that were only replying to threads to correct spelling to come out of the woodwork. Can remember it being quite bad for it about 6 months ago.
If it's readable then as far as I'm concerned it's fine. It's only when people write like der strate up gangstaz yo that it gets to me. Single words spelt wrong are acceptable though.

Everybody makes spelling mistakes.
It's the fundamentals though and people think brought means bought, it's not just in text either, I've heard people saying it on the TV.
