I totally agree Hate it with a passion, but I can't give it back to the finance company for another year.

I don't see why you can't sell it. I'm assuming you've either got a personal loan or a finance deal through the dealer?

Either way they'll let you pay it off early for a small fee - or at least they usually do.

It's not a small fee as the car has massive negative equity. For me to hand it back 6 months ago would have cost me nearly £6000.

Half way through the term, a year from now, I can hand it back with no settlement fee.

But, that means I'm still stuck with it for a year.

Oh I see, its the negative equity causing you a problem. Fair enough.

Kick in the balls to have to shell out to fix it though

Thats gutting mate, I'm pretty sure handing back a car on finance doesn't do your credit rating any favours.

Why dont you settle the finance agreement with a personal loan fix it then sell the bastard on?

I know the E46's had that swirl flap turbo issue but not the E90's

Still needs nines on the front tbh.

Fad, I think it's the VNT mech in the turbo which is shagged, should be recon-able, but it's still gonna cost me.

Can't get a loan as I have finance lol.

To be honest Phil, I think it's down to my driving, I never let it warm up, thrash it to within an inch of it's life, left foot brake, brake hard at the last minute, switch it off when it's hot...

It's done well to last so long tbh

Well, after 28 days at one garage and getting the vaguest diagnosis ever, the car moved to my missus' mates's dad's driveway and now has a new top mount and no rattle, after 1 day....

Goes to show that 'specialists' can't always be trusted

Looking into selling it now, just need to find the settlement figure from my finance company and try to get a loan to cover that, sell the car, pay a lump off the loan, buy a cheap shed and save myself £150 a month.
