i dont understand? the atkins diet is a weight loss diet, i cant understand how people think they are going to get muscular without eating enough foods?

IvIarkgraham was just asking about whether the 'diet' for p90x was included... I was saying ... does he want to 'diet' or does he want to 'bring it'...
If all he cares about is a 'diet' (as in weight loss) he should do atkins...
If he wants to bring it then do p90x... I wasn't suggesting do atkins on p90x.

Just Smashed DAY 3 boys! Wasnt too bad compared to the last 2 days workouts.
I can barely walk today after plyometrics yesterday and iv got work in 20mins .
Ab Ripper X actually kills you this time so good luck with that
Im actually so confident im going to see this through that i might put up my before pictures either tonite or tomorrow

You'd of thought so.
When you go through the nutrition part of this it goes in to the amount of calories you should be eating based on various variables specific to your body/daily activity so its aimed to give you the amount needed for the workouts whilst cutting the fat within the first phase.

true. this all depends on how hard he is training.

It'll drive you to improve yourself if you put up before pics, as people will mock you like how you are now, so you'll get more drive to improve
I must admit, with the amount of us that will be doing this - I'd expect at least some of us to get good gains if it works, just by chance / rules out any anomolys...

For a variety of reasons, one being we don't have a fridge yet and I'm not preparing food before I go to work, I'm not going to be starting this straight away but I am very motivated to do it.
I'll have a few more nutrition questions I'm sure after I've finished reading the pdf.

Living at home i'm not 100% sure i'll be able to work out while while watching the DVD, going to have to watch it a few times and make notes etc for when I get my fat ass to the gym. Mother has already said I cant have the pull up bar so thats out the window straight away.
I'll say I wont be following 100%. I dont have the available dedication as I do other stuff (Football twice a week for example) but i'm going to adapt what to what I can when I can.
The diet is the main thing for me, in all my times going to the gym i've never had a decent diet to go with it so i'm hoping that will help me out a lot.
Going to use the picture method an all, hopefully being able to see a physical change will help spur me on to glory

you shouldnt check pictures daily either, take them every 3 or 4 weeks and you will see the differences more clearly.

Paul, u really need to eat max 1hr half before training. Will make alot of difference as dizzy has said. From what ive read so far in these posts, your on a kinda cutting big time 30 days, so u dont wanna be eating big at the min, just a good healthy calorie defict diet.
If ure not on a major cutting 30days, ignore me

tbh he is either doing this P90X to the tee or some sort of hybrid freak of a plan. This certainly doesnt say to cut massively now.

tonight's p90x (sholders and arms) was not that bad! i mean it was hard, but not totally intense and enjoyable!

As I was saying before on U2U, had to swap them round between tonight and tomorrow for various reasons so did the Yoga. Wasnt too bad but Im about as flexible as a thick steel pole.
Didnt do the abs tonight as didnt realise how long the yoga was

Well ive been watching a few of the workout videos and they are pretty demanding, you couldnt do them half heartedly as a lot of the stuff is bodyweight and he does really drum on how important form is so intensity will be there. The majority of the plan is performed in a calorie deficit though so its not designed for maximum mass building.
The programme looks really good for someone looking to cut fat and get into shape, but for me there isnt enough heavy lifting involved for my required hypertrophy. Good luck to everyone on it though, it looks tough so ill be interested to see which of you maggots make it to the end!

So Dizzy, is it a bad thing then if I'm still burning more calories than i'm taking in?
Is it actually possible for the body to build muscle AND lose fat at the same time?
or will the muscle gain be limited significantly because of the lack of intake?

You do need a calorie surplus to be able to build muscle. When you first start training it is thought that you can can build muscle and loose fat but this doesn't last long.
