I have been very impressed this week with the variety of what people have produced.

I'm no critic and my photo's arent amazing so all comments below are my opinion only so please no one take offence

So, with no further ado

Joint 3rd Place (To hard to decide !)

Joe

Truly brilliantly grasped the concept and well composed. In my opinion, the only thing that has let you down slightly is:

Post processing makes the image feel that the DOF has been enhanced using P.S. Would love to have a play with the original if you'd let me ofc

Andy

I couldn't choose between either of you solely because i had very similar critiscms. The background Sackboy person thing seems overly blurred out and the "shadow" doesnt seem to follow the contours of the sackboy. The front one however is extremely crisp and i love the sharp reflection of the surface below him.

Again to improve IMO would be a more natural DOF

2nd Place

Mantamark

I like this picture but i don't, there is far more to the image than in Joe and Andy's cases however is no where near as crisp. Did you use a tripod ? If not maybe have another crack at it with one, however if you did use one maybe a slightly quicker shutter speed and raise ISO ?

1st Place

Mattk

I think everyone will agree this is a bloody fabulous picture

Comments....The reflection in the water is turly ace, I love how crisp and vibrant the colours are on the relfection of the tower on the right hand side. What also catches my eye is the reflection of the mountain is so clear and the water so still !

Out of interest did you create the fade in the sky or was that from the photo ? It really helps remove unwanted space and forces the eye down towards the detail. Beautifully shot.

And the others...

Nema, The image itself is great, however a couple of changes to the composure would have made it into the top 3. The Red/Brown "flower" at the front is too out of focus, I think over the leaves this should have been the main point of focus.

Recomposing your position to have not included the ?table/worktop/door? immediately behind the image would have given more depth to the table in the background.

Viper-X, I'm finding it hard to find the focal point, if anything it feels like the VERY bottom of picture is most in focus and as you move through the candle the focus dissapears. A tighter focus on the candle would have also found this photo in the top 3

Well done Mattk and totally agree with your comments. My entry was far to rushed and if I gave myself more time would of come out better, but nevermind as I said it was fun to do none the less.

I knew Mattk's was gonna win when I first saw it, lovely shot and the location is just immense.

It is realllly hard to think of a theme

the best I can come up with is Habbits give us all a snapshot into your life, what ever your habbit may be. Wether it good or bad, naughty or nice

Thats a good theme. I have many habbits, of which potentially all are terrible. Will jump on it !

Wow, 2nd place! Chuffed. Thanks, though i really expected Andys to be ahead of mine, it was so sharp. I should have used the tripod tbh, but i was annoyed when my other idea didnt work, so just took a snap shot.

New theme is interesting, hope theres not a pic of bogies and nail clippings though!

Is photography not a hobby, rather than a habbit? I need to look up the meaning?

Bogies and nails is my idea lol.
