bloody pain in the ass this!

Will take the box up to a family members and test it there aswell. I've also been on the phone to sky saying my xbox connection seems to be blocked/not working can they check it out everything come back fine.. Surely they would have said that they think i could be card sharing and put a block on it if so.

I don't think sky could block that anyway. They'd more likely cancel your connection if they thought you were doing it.

I've still not got a box for my living room either btw, everytime I'm about to spend £200 I realise that I still don't watch movies and sports even on the dodgy one.

I was thinking this too, I can't see how it's possible for them to block a single connection ect.

Will see test the box elsewhere tomorrow and see what goes on from there.

Moving into a place without Virgin so might pick up a cheap box for the bedroom. Can't justify paying £37 for Entertainment Extra + HD!

Need to see if you can take Fibre on its own (I.e without landline) otherwise you're looking at £32/month for 40/10Mb!

It's FTTC not FTTH ie: you need a landline......

Well the box no longer works,

Went to test it today at a family members house, set everything up and had an error message "clone chip set Id" after that the box refuses to power on.

New box time I think!

That sounds like it's had firmware with a timebomb in it, the official firmware does that to the clone boxes.

I'm not sure how/if you can fix it.

Na, mine's totally dead, nothing. I was assured it's legit, although either way it's not a big deal since it came with 12month warranty. Replacing it tomorrow. Just turned it off last night as normal and today nothing.

What was up with it being a clone? If it was cheaper than £300 its probably a clone.
