Its shit Mitch... A lot of guys are going to suffer... They are enforcing it to stop proper race cars using the track to test on public driving days. That’s fair enough but our cars are road going cars and its crap that they won’t let you round. I mean... please take no offence by this, the same goes for me with my turbo. Surely they can distinguish the difference between a thorough race car and our little corsa's that we drive to track days in.

No offence taken mate, I totally agree! And yeh I'd imagine its going to screw a fair few people, with a bit of luck they'll soon revert back or at least change some rules as to not loose to much custom. Proper bollocks tho

Not much of an update bit picked a few bits up from being powdercoated.
Decided on a cam belt cover with vernier cut outs, I cut the holes in a spare cover I had, just in case I don't like it.
Before

After

And a gay pic with the verniers

Also got the engine and g/box mounts done as they were absolutely hanging, much better now

Popped down to see how my mate was getting on with the car today, it was back to with him to hook up the front turrets to the cage but I had to order more cds tube as we ran out last time, I needed a tad more than 2.4 metres so ended up having to order 5.6 metres, so thought we could put it to use, not going to use it all as don't want excessive weight in the car, still got harness bars to add in to the rear 'x' but that'll be it I think, may make the diagonal on the roof an 'x' but don't think it's needed tbh. looking pretty awesome though and should be mega solid now!!
Little support on the tunnel pick up

Front legs to turret triangulated

Turret hook up

Should have the cage completely finished and bay stitch welded tomoz
A few packages turned up this week also...
New rear polycarbs

Carbon fibre rear door cards (have fronts already) the guy threw in a couple of extras as well, fuel pump plate and extra piece.

1.5 litre alloy swirl pot

Will hopefully have a finished cage update tomoz

Thanks Luke
Spent most of the day down my mates unit finishing the cage etc, and I must say it looks fookin awesome!!
First up was to finish the front turrets as only the drivers side was done yesterday.
Passenger side now complete..

With that done, it was onto the harness bars..
Profiled and tacked in place..

All welded up..

Then it was onto the rear strut brace as it was a bolt in jobby but wanted it all welded, the avos are pretty tight on the rear turrets as it is so this way it looses the nuts holding it in place..

And a couple of my mate Callum doing his thing..

And a rather cool shot of a completed climbing frame

With the cage now done it was onto something I wanted doing before paint, my reason behind this is that its properly tight getting the 90mm trumpets on the bodies against the bulk head and getting a filter on and off was a pain in the arse, so this is what we've done..
Marked up where would be ideal for ease of fitting/removal

And got the plasma cutter out..

The hole where the pollen filter and housing gos is now redundant as I have no heater matrix etc in the car so theat needed plating anyway..
So we made the hole a little bigger lol

Then did this..

Will be a lot better this way, and I should be able to run spacers or longer trumpets now also
And that's as far as we got, am spending the day down there with him tomoz and hope to have all the welding done and prepped for paint.

Good guess tbh as that's pretty much what it weighs, is a bit weighty I know, but as Ben says if it saves my life I don't care if it weighed double that. I have removed plenty of other weight from the car and still have some more to shed!!
