I know you do a brilliant job of maintaining this as a 1.6 and done a great job of converting it . And I bet it is quite a pocket rocket . But do you have any plans for big power one day ?

I have thought about it mate yeah I think im just going to stick with the 1.6 though. Mainly because I want to stop spending on it now and just enjoy it as it is. Still planning on putting my cams and management on it over the winter which should liven it up!

As long as I can give dans redtop a run for its money thats quick enough for me

Awesome . I'm sure dan might get grumpy if the wee 1.6 dicked his redtop .

What sort of power ganes will you notice with the cams and management ? Be like a completely different car I guess ?

You won't get near it unless they are magic cams. The difference when going XE is awesome!!

Depends if his xe is standard, if sean's running some half decent cams and management id imagine he wouldn't struggle keeping up that bad

Update as promised

So in the end I decided to completely strip down my inlet and start again from scratch -

First up was a new throttle body and GM idle control valve from corsa-torque cheers again mate!

Then I ordered the new gaskets needed to fit it all back together.

I've had to make the new gasket that joins the throttle body to the powebox before you can't buy them. Did a pretty good job though I reckon

I gave the new throttle body a fresh coat of paint too to tidy it up a bit

Then it was just a case of waiting to get my inlet back from the powdercoaters. Got it back yesterday so set about building it all back up

and then this morning I got it fitted

Annoying it hasnt 100% solved the problem. But on the plus side the car now drives The stalling problem has gone but now the revs are hunting when warm and its ticking over too high. So more investigation needed there but at least I can get off it off the drive now without it cutting out

Also while the car was off the road I decided to fit some rubber trim that I bought ages ago to go onto the false floor. To get the carpet to go around the MDF I had to make little slits in it which didnt look great. Looks much better now though

Just about to renew my insurance too. Some of you might remember I was side swiped on a island in my sister clio. Because the claim is still outstanding due to the bloke refusing to admit liability ive lost 3 years NCB My renewal was £1,380 with a £500 excess but after a bit of haggling I've managed to get it down to £1,260 with a £250 excess which isnt too bad considering

Off to give the corsa a much needed wash now

Cheers chaps!

Mark the only thing I think it could be is a small airleak somewhere. Just waiting for my dad to come home so I can take him out in it and see what he thinks
