Just ordered some uprated brakes and caliper paint... was tempted to do something garish but fuck it I'm sticking to the classic, i.e. red.

Change oil and filter on my mates MK2 Golf with a VR6 engine, he had the conversion and some light head work done recently so was due a "run in" change.

Dropped the oil filter housing off to find that there was no filter in there!!!

Amazed is not the word, oh, and the sump nut was done up finger tight!

More boring changes here.. Converted the dash in the van so it can accept the modern VW head unit rather than just an old square type double din:

It was a f**king nightmare of a job that I would never do again

taking over 'what have you done to your car today'

bought another one, couldnt say no to it only having 50k , it was going to scrap. cars still tested til feb and had a fucked afm and a weeping damper, must of been too much to fix easier to get finance than fix it maybe

been on at it these past 3 days, full machine polish with t cut restorer (much more cleaning to come...) heat gunned most the trim. found de-grill, clear repeaters, depos and some 15" steels with 195.45's on all in my piles of bits so all went on

thinking bigger engine, brake, suspention... road toy, few month fun then sell on. doing my bit for the future of corsa b's

chuffed to bits with it

Took the seats out and gave it a proper clean.
Wasn't too bad, didn't find anything though.

Gave it a wash at weekend

Before of the wheel, over 1k miles of dirt

And after

Also changed the badges and mirrors to gloss black, just waiting the rear badge to be painted as it fell of the stand in the booth

Then cleaned my mates Golf too, and went out for a nice country road blast

£40 of V power lasted me 155 miles so it was a fun drive.

Towed it out the garage into daylight (first time in 9 years and 9 months, tax disc expired 30/09/07 ) It took a lot of encouragement to get it to come out into the big wide world!

Emptied it's home out and scrubbed the floor

Gave it a nice refreshing home to return back in to! I should've done this years ago, £48 of paint, £3 driveway cleaner and 2 days work. Really simple and easy.

still been cracking on with the red one cos blues waiting on parts...

found some 1l 12v rec clocks (perfect pulse for v6) with only 2k more on them, so corsasport be my whitness thats its ready just over 2k more than it should for the shell.

and iv practically finished the deep clean up it needed, heavy t cut colour restorer, auto glym resin, and maguiers wax, good wash in between stages too... waiting on a preface rear bumper for it now.

still looks a bit pinky in those pics somehow, its glowing in person
