MOT sorted. No advisories and a very good emissions pass too. Very happy
Chucked these on aswell. Standard sizes are 21'' and 20'' but overlap the windscreen surround slightly, so decided to drop down an inch on both. Fits better and no obvious negative affects.

Browsing the Web at centre parcs at the weekend and found these cheap on ebay. Got them for £195 with 3-4mm tread on the tyres. Alloys need a refurb, but the sole purpose of these is to get my black ones done whilst still being able to drive the car. Even better that the guy selling was 15 minutes away, so they cost me about £3 in petrol to go and pick up
As said, they need a refurb badly and won't win any beauty contests but they do the job they need to and I can sell them on and not lose money.
Quite like them tbh, but they cost a fortune to refurbish as they're proper 2 piece split rims.

Yes I think I do too. These are just a basic 5 spoke design, whereas the ellipsoid's have more going on.

Nah, I want a light shadow chrome colour. Not too dark, but not too light either. I've seen a multitude of 'shadow chrome' colours, so need to be quite specific with what I want.
Managed to get the tyres pumped up and fitted today. They look great from 10 yards away makes a change from having black wheels.

They look decent. Proves to me that silver is by far the best colour for your car so you should refurb your others in silver imo.

I'm inclined to agree, but I also think a darker shade would look even better.
To me, this looks awesome:
As I have the same colour car/roof, it makes for a good comparison.

They look so good, Gav. How much was that, if you don't mind me asking? Is it just chrome powerboat or have they been resprayed?

Actually Ben that pic you posted looks stunning. Not keen on the chrome
Edit to say not keen on chrome for yours. Suits Gav's car because his purple wrap is ridiculously cool!

Can't remember the name of the powdercoat but yeah it's just powdercoated, it's high gloss something.
Mr wilks sorted it for me, think it was about £160. I think.

Is it just me that prefers the new wheels ?

Not at all, Chris. The new wheels were the most expensive optional extra ones you could buy when the car was new, so they're quite sought after.
I just prefer the chunky design of my old wheels and feel they suit the design of the Z4 better.

I like those wheels. For that price I'm surprised you won't keep them as winter wheels etc.

I live in the south East, Phil. Haven't seen snow for a few years now, and even then, the car drove fine, so no real need for winter wheels/tyres.

Aye probably but they were just to cover my damaged BMW badges, only my winter wheels anywho so they don't stay on long, in fact they have been off the car a month already, had a photoshoot

Fair play!
BEnG: how do you rate the pads and discs? Bedded in yet? Comparison to (non knackered) OEM stuff?
