Black smoke off the launch is usually fuel. Most performance cars will black smoke especially turbos. Its safer for them to over fuel slightly (extra fuel cools the inlet charge and stops det), perfect burn or stoich (stoitchmetric ratio) is 14.7 parts air to 1 part fuel, perfect for power not for safety. Most turbo cars will run as low as 13 parts air on boost - hence the unburnt fuel and black smoke!

well the shootouts sounds good, hopefully the corsas will be pitted against something fair, although after seeing how well matth and yourself did at this last one, i reckon maybe taking on someone like CTR's?
