Sorry no progress pics at the mo. Work will commence again tonight.
But in the mean time I now have a deadline....
I've booked the car in for a Custom Exhaust at JP Exhausts (as recommended by Rick Draper ) on Thursday 5th April and Engine mapping should be the week after.
So fingers crossed the car should be up and running mid April.
We should be fitting the LET later in the van so another update coming sooooon.
Cheers
Neil

Neil doesn't live in leam, he's a liar, he lives out in the country on farm and mates with the animals. But then he is an animal so its ok, "Cadds monkey" ? WTF I thought u were clever neil, CAD jockey is I hope what you meant.
Have you started a sweepstake on how long it is before the RX7 gets spanked/blown up/started as a long term project never to get finished?
I'll def be up this weekend if you're about, need to bring those brakes up.

Update:
15th March
Sorry again for the crap Pic quality... will get some digi camera pics tomorrow when we work on them again.
The LET is in the Van.... Woo Hooo....
I let these 3 struggle whilst I took pictures and took the p*ss a lot
They do know what they are doing..... honest
And in she sits
Whilst they were messing about I took the opportunity to mask and spray up my new rear discs and also hand painted the Disc backing plate which I have just had blasted
Also cleaned my Shocks up ready for blasting, and masked off the pistons so they don't get damaged
And finally Kev (mate who helped early on in the project) turned up on his summer toy... couldn't resist some pics! Its such a gorgeous machine
CBR600 for anyone who's not sure what it is.
Cheers

Hi Steve,
I was going for a 2.75" but speeching to John at JP he recons a 2.5" may better suit it... be easier to fit.... and cost less as its an off the shelf size. He reckoned to having the intial downpipe as 2.25" to build up the velocity and back pressure to minimise lag, then flair it to 2.5" for the rest of the system with just a diddy backbox.
Sounds good to me
Yes I know nuneaton. I actually live in the middle of nowhere inbetween Coventry, Leamington and Rugby as Oli (DHDev) politely pointed out
I work up in Derby so go up the M69 which runs past nuneaton everyday.
Cheers

i wish i had the place, money+skill to do that.
hope all goes well
Thanks mate
It wasn't always like this though. I started off at 17 with a sh*tty 1.2 Nova and worked outside with cheap Argos Tools and a Haynes manual not having much clue about what I was doing (My mates will say I still haven't lol)
Its taken me 8 long years to finally get my old man to allow us a space in one of his barns I am very lucky though living on a farm.
Thanks for the comments guys. Glad your enjoying it.

UPDATE:
17th March
Today I decided to fit as much as my Nitrous system as can, as im running out of jobs to do without more parts.
First off I drilled a hole in the buckhead and ran a Nitrous feed line through then mounted the solenoid on a bracket
I've had to seperate the 2 solenoids due to ease of mounting and connections
The fuel solenoid is mounted behind the inlet manifold and is tapped into the fuel line just before the Fuel Pressure Regulator
As you can see the Nitrous/Fuel Nozzle is going to be just before the throttle body, i also mounted a couple of the old boost hoses just to see how they fit (new ones on order)
And finally I mounted the Microswitch which activates the system at the end of the fuel rail
Dan sourced me a piece of Alu to shape and become the Dizzy cap blank for my coil pack to mount on.
Dan fitted his front bumper
Bar a seat belt harness, the civic is now FINALLY ready to be mapped and MOT'd, just in time for its first track outing at Castle Combe in April hopefully.
Ben turned up in his freshly cleaned Scooby so I thought it would be rude not to get a pic of Mine, Dan's and Ben's car together as it was such a nice day
Unfortunetely mine and Dan's were dirty though But hey... still made for some cool pics
4WD, RWD and FWD all together
I thought this pic was especially cool

Cheers,
Im expecting around 270bhp and over 300lb's ft torque. Fingers crossed.... and thats before the G@S.
As long as it drives well and is very torquey, then i'll be happy whatever it makes to be honest.

UPDATE:
20th March
A mate of mine (Mike) popped over tonight to help with the wiring (soldering, I don't like it). He is the person who has also been responsable for all my powder coating. Cheers Mike
He set about running the Nitrous solenoid wires through the wings and soldering all the connections together
As you can see i've started trail fitting some old boost hoses I have just to see if its all going to fit as i'd like.
All fits so far
Here you can see the blanking plate fitted on the end of the cam case. This will be machined later this week to look a little smarter
This is how the dash looks at the mo, still lots to do on this
And here's the Billy's after Mike blasted them for me.... as you can see theres a bit of pitting but all the rust has been taken off
I added a few coats of Hammerite and left them to dry
Also Mike had kindly blasted and powder coated my HKS Blow off valve cover and the T-Piece it connects into be cause these were both pitting and rusty
My lastest Ebay bargain.... £7.50 for this Autometer Nitrous Pressure gauge
Whilst we were working, Ben fitted the engine wiring harness to his LET
Whilst he sang to himself
Love that Orange light on top
Now for a quick update on my Calibra.
It was so nice here on Sunday I decided to Wax her for the first time in 6 months!
Then 30mins later it rained
Then the following day she broke down at work (The LPG ECU had decided to stick in Gas mode and wouldn't change back to Petrol to start the car)
So the AA's lowest flat bed was called in to bring the car home
The driver (of 15 years experience with the flatbeds) told me he has never had such a low car on his trailer He's had Ferrari's and Lambo's and they were over an inch higher. So at least that was something to smile about
As you can imagine though it only "JUST" got on and off

UPDATE:
My Engine Management and Custom loom have arrived
Its a DTA S60 PRO and and cost a Cool £1200 with Loom and a few other bits and bobs.
Lucky I don't have to pay a penny of that though as Ben (16v Turbo Van owner) owns me for the LET engine so he's paying it. Nice one Ben

Cheers for the comments guys
Did a few bits and bobs last night, the most exciting of which was Ben getting his Van light working
Perfect for the night time RWYB's
And we wired in my DTA... This is roughly where the ECU will sit when finished.
More progress tomorrow.

Yes mate, its staying sleeper apart from some black 16's and a huge intercooler hanging out the front... apart from that it'll look trashed and won't get washed But the engine bay will look tidy
