For the person who asked what insurance group it is likely to be as it got lost amongst the female banter, I read as much as 15, possibly 13 or 14. The Astra VXR is 17 I believe.

I would expect 18 year olds not to be able to get insured. Me and my girlfriend couldn't get insured on a Mk3 VW Polo 1.4 16v at 18.

Yes well you were 18 so you're not going to get a reasonable quote on anything remotely sporty

Anyway, back to the Corsa VXR.

I was just wondering how younger people, such as 18 to 25 (their supposed target market) will get insured - especially as at this age group, many people don't have 7 years no claims like they should!

Anyone thats 20+ will get insurance easy provided they have a couple of no claims. I'm 22 and can get insurance on an Astra VXR no problem.

i would expect the corsa vxr be about grp 17-18.
its a small hatchback with large power to weight ratio.
high repair costs as panels etc are expensive.

This thread is sooooo funny to read now. Cuprsa homeo steve, so, you got a corsa? Ever owned one? Why you here?

Anyone who can get insured ona 2.0 Corsa should be able to get insured ont he corsa vxr.

Astra GTE is a Group 15, so putting a 2.0 in puts the corsa up to group 15. If you have bodywork n tat like i've got, it bumps it up to a group 17....

So if the corsa is a group 15, expect a quote a bit higher than a 2.0 corsa. THe only killer extra is the fact its brand new and not an older car..

I'll let the 2 Ronnies continue the whinging and crying now
