Lower inlet manifold done up, manifold done up, head bolts done, absolutely flying
New idler rollers in, pre-tensioner in, all done and looking spanking, timed up and belt on, absolutely flying
Then, i asked my mum to brace the top sproket whilst i tightened up the bottom pulley bolt........
But ive no other idea of how to brace the engine whilst i tighten it up!?
Gutted, totally

put it in gear and put your foot on the brake should lock it enough.
edit and havin gthe plugs in to create a bit of compression wont hurt either.

If plugs are in then engine will have compression. Meaning its harder to turn over. No plugs = no compression.

I presume you have put the lower back cover on and the bottom pully on before trying to do up the bolt? Just to check haha

Off to get a new sprocket tomorrow, so should get that fitted and the belt redone by Monday night, everything else finished Tuesday, hopefully getting there with enough time to clean it for PVS

Yeah, would have taken a pic when it was done but kind of lost all interest when it went wrong. Took pulley and cover back off and got the knackered sproket off, then we had a thuinder storm so packed in (it was also getting dark at 9.30pm)

Update time:
Nipped out Sunday to get myself a new (well, scrap yard new) camshaft sprocket - which i got for the handsome sum of £2
But that was it for the day as went to visit brother
Monday came around and when i got to working on the car it turned out to be an uneventful evening filled with slow progress and anoyance. TB housing was being a badger and the heatshield must have been talking to the TB because he was also being a wanker
Anyways, i was off today so figured id set to and get the damn thing finished......till i noticed the weather piss piss pissing it down ffs.
Ah well, the day started with me spending a few pennies.
Spanner for TB housing bolt that was being a badger, small price to pay tbf
And nipped to work and picked up a tarp Not lucky enough to have a garage but still have a drive so you know
State of play -
Screw on TB
But after literally spending the best part of 6 hours going at the same god damned screw it finally gave in
Header tank -
Uncle popped round to help me re-do the timing belt and what not. Got that sorted in a jiffy all looking good.
Went to put on the bottom pulley and he had said the other day that it was a bit weird how it hadnt located easily.
He found out why today
Which ever monkey fitted it before had put it on wrong and so it was totally out (at least it shows its been off before, so belts done?) oh well, off to get one tomorrow, no point putting a knackered one back on after all this, hey
figured id stop that side for the night, and get the rest done
Eeeee -
Swapped them silly clips for jubilee's, much easier -
Then popped the Lex on
Decided to call it a night there, seeing as though it was 9pm the day had just flown by!
But at least VeeTwo was looking nearly complete again and pretty sexy too
Need to fit strut brace, bottom pulley, rest of the covers, battery and then the BMC. Fill with oil, coolant. Dig out the FK's and get them back in, wipers on and shes looking ready for PVS bar a good clean
Need to do fuel filter and both front top mounts, but they can wait till after PVS now.
Nearly there
