Fergie wasn't even in this country, was in Spain watched Valencia It would of been embarrassing if we'd lost and he wasn't there though, he'd of got the blame!

oh and watched the chelsea highlights. what a game
annoyed that newcastle went through as a bloke in work bums them, but can't fault them for the effort both teams put in.

Didn't see the game, wasn't online anywhere. Hodgson's gonna come under alot of pressure now sure enough. I can't really comment on last nights (shocking) defeat without seeing how we played and to be honest everyone has been calling for him to give the kids a go, so it could be argued it was down to the youngsters not being good enough or folding under the pressure, but I have a good idea what it's really down to.
My main observation of Roy so far from the 10 or so games he's been in charge is that his tactics (even before yesterday) are at best, questionable. The other glowingly obvious thing that isn't going down well with our fans is the complete like of pride he's showing, it's like he's going into games with the same expectations he had at fulham with his excuses at the ready and his 'look on the bright side' attitude, it's not washing. The fact is, he's got a load of talented players and he can't get it right, 'it' being the tactics, the motivation, the attitude, whatever. That's his job to sort out, and with every game that passes where we put in a below par performance, where he comes out with some half assed lame excuse as to why I should look at the positives, the more he's coming under pressure and the less I trust him or his judgement.

No, I think he has just inherited a bunch of players no where near good enough for the level the fans expect. They have 2 star players, Gerrard and Torres and one of them is horrendously out of form. Then they have a bunch of 6-9th based players and another group of barely premiership quality players. Whether tactics/motivation etc is the problem or not i cant comment on as i dont watch them week in week out but from just looking at the players i really cant see a squad capable of anywhere near 4th. I'll stick with my prediction of 8th this season unless there is major investment.
And if that happens it will be a long time until they see CL football again as it will be Torres and Gerrard, hello more players like Kyrgiakos, Jovanovic and Konchesky.

I wouldn't call Reina and J.Cole 6-9th players apart from that your right though their squad is full of inferior players!

Reina, Johnson, Agger aren't 6th+ placed players. Neither is Kuyt IMO. Jury is out on Meireles but plenty of top (united) clubs were after him.
