Arsenal fans But its the only time you can actually believe a story about Arsenal, unless you see Wenger et al on TV, as Arsenal are a notoriously secret club. After Benzema had signed for RM, it was put to him that if he liked him so much they why did he not try to sign him and he said he had made a bid but was (significantly) gazumped by Real

Oh right robbo, I get it now, it was one of those interviews after another top player had signed for another club and it was too late to do anything, sorry I didn't realise

I wont believe anything about signings until I see the player with Wenger, holding up an Arsenal shirt.

I know it is but you may not welcome him but as soon as pulled on the shirt and had a good game you'd be all over him
Him and Carroll back together
5 - No player assisted more goals (5) or created more goalscoring chances (41) from set pieces in the PL in 2010/11 than Joey Barton. Bibs

Why hasn't he been offered a contract at Newcastle? I doubt we'd take a risk on him tbh, he'd get in shit loads of bother living back in liverpool imho.

Fuck having that cunt at Liverpool. Man is a piece of shit and doesnt deserve to play the game
I'm sure that opinion will change when he pulls on a red shirt. Just like all liverpool fans opinions of Carroll changed. Fickle.

Ive always though Carroll was a decent player tbh. Not a £35m player yet mind

I'd guess wage demands.
He's meant to be on £67k a week now and after the season he's just had I'd bet he's looking for more than that

I think he wanted a longer deal and obviously higher wages.

Higher wages? Should just be fucking grateful the club stuck by him after all his problems.
Once a cunt, always a cunt, he'll never change.

He rejected a contract in April because he wanted a longer deal. I'm guessing no contract offer just means Newcastle were unwilling to lengthen or improve the contract offered in April..

Wasn't Barton saying earlier in the season that he's be prepared to take a wage cut to repay the faith the club and fans had shown in him. I think it more down to the Fat cunt wanting to try and realise some of the asset now off the back of a good season whilst getting rid of one of our highest earners from the wage bill

He was offered 2 years with chance of a 1 year extension and wanted 3 years with a year extension. Don't think money will have been the issue tbh. May be his agent trying to force Newcastle's hand.

First bits of the summer, Brad Friedel 2 year deal looks to be happening and Wolfsburg have got a bit of cash to spend and are looking on a few of ours (heard palacious, jenas, hutton and a striker). Also heard Gervinho is on the cards as is Drogba (but at the min hes wage demands are too high and we want to see who the new manager is first, madrid also interested but only want him for £5m)
