I don't have any links, I just go to a local guy for the box and line. I think the others use card share kings or something like that.

Spent 2 hours on chat to try and get a new router earlier on, had to go out so told them I'd be phoning to cancel when I got home.

Phoned to cancel and they wanted to charge me £38 for a new router, explained that I had my own but it didn't support MER so it was their fault.

Cancelled all the TV but I'm in a 12 month contract for talk anyway and sky BB is good. Router wasn't even broken, wifi is just shit on the f@st2304 and I wanted a new one

tl;dr

Cancelled sky TV so will be getting a vu+ duo before the 20 days are up.

Got this through last week.

Has taken a lot of pissing about to set it up close to a sky box tbh but is close.

Does the usual sky+ stuff + it streams over the network, which is handy. I'm going to try and set up one of my rpi's to be able to 'tune' channels from the duo.

Works but arsing about, unless you can be annoyed it's better off sticking with sky.

Much better than the openbox.

is it as good as sky for the user once it's setup? I'd like to ditch sky full stop but they provide my phone and internet

It's still not as good as sky.

It's good enough for me to put up with but I wouldn't want to suggest it to someone with my phone number, would never be off the phone.

Depends on box. No epg on the cheap openbox. EPG on all of the linux based boxes, including the duo.

Quite a considerable price difference for the sake of an epg mind

EPG and twin tuners being the main ones. EPG does make a big difference though, the openbox is terrible for that.

If is works with my rpi i'll get rid of the openbox, if not i'll keep that in the bedroom.

I was paying 40 or 50 quid a month for sky so it will pay for itself in 6 months.
